So basically this is a dehydrator that has been modified to work like a biltong box. I think the idea is excellent and it works well, plus you get the best of both worlds. It also looks good (unlike home made ones) and will fit in any room. It was pretty quiet. I was able to fit about 2KG (4.4 lbs) of meat in this machine without being over packed. I had large slabs and a couple of smaller pieces. The smaller pieces took 2-3 days to be ready (I like medium to dry biltong). The larger pieces took about 5 days. Note, the ones at the back closer to the fan dry quicker in my experience. Overall, really like this biltong box and feel like it was worth it. Really like the biltong book that came with it and the hooks for hanging are perfect. Some things I would like to see change: 1) it would be nice if the box could run for a few days without needing to reset the timer every 24 hours. Not a big deal if you are at home and the box is in an easy place to reset but if you go away for a couple days it would be a problem. 2) would be nice if there was some sort of clip or something to keep the hanging bars in place, they easily fall out and it’s a mission to put them back when the box is fully packed. Overall as is, I still give it 5 stars as it does what it promises and more.

We use or box often. We dry biltong and sausage in it. Works well, no noise. Perfect size for our family needs. Not too heavy to move into pantry when not in use. Great temperature control, easy to use too.

The Kalahari Stainless Steel Biltong Box Food Dehydrator and Drying Cabinet is a fantastic and high quality device. We’ve been making biltong, dry wors, and dried fruit since the day we got it. It’s very easy to use, and on thinner pieces of meat, if you don’t have patience, you can make biltong overnight. If you like biltong and live in a place where it’s very expensive, like most countries outside SA, this will save you a lot of money pretty quickly, and you can make your own high quality biltong easily and safely.

Great buy. I would like to see a better design for the drip tray, even though this one works fine and the timer is limited to 24 hours max, so you have to reset the timer daily for biltong. The recipe book that comes with it is great.

Really easy to use! It is much quieter than I imagined - you can barely hear it. We tried one of the recipes in the book and our chili bites turned out great on the very first try. They only had to dry for 24 hours, despite many other recipes calling for 3-5 days.

So happy I bought this product, amazing. The fan is so whisper quiet , you do not hear it. I love the fact that I can choose the temperature between Fahrenheit and Celsius. The PERFECT biltong and droe wors maker. I made honey coated banana chips on the trays..delicious. I am also tired of buying chicken jerky for my dogs at $20 a bag, they go through it in 1 week ( I have 3 rescues) . For $20 I can buy A LOT of chicken breasts and make it myself, I also know it is not full of preserves and hidden ingredients that might not be good for them. I LOVE THIS MACHINE - it is my new BFF ...and everybody loves my biltong. My one regret - WHY did I take so long to purchase one???

This biltong cabinet is so well made and accurate, with everything I need to make my first batch of Biltong. Really easy to set up and operate, even came with a great recipe book for Biltong, jerky, etc. I’m looking forward to trying other recipes now, especially the sweet and spicy bacon jerky. The price is quite expensive, but I’m glad we bought this one as it makes things very easy. Update 11/8/24… you must try the Bacon Jerky in the included recipe booklet (back page) . It’s absolutely DELICIOUS!

I recently got the KK11 Biltong Boss, and honestly, it's fantastic. It's super easy to use which is perfect for someone like me who wants things simple. I tried making snapsticks first since they only take 24 hours, and they turned out great! Having this machine makes me feel closer to home. The best purchase ever! I have been using it for 2 years and it makes amazing biltong, salmon jerky, and pork chips. The whole family loves it.
