This was the second paint by number I completed. Now that I’ve done quite a few, I’m writing my reviews. This one is a great one for beginners and fun if your more advanced as well. Colors are bright and tropical as pictured. This is still one of my favorite paint by numbers. I’ll be framing it and hanging it soon! Here are a couple of tips as well:)1. Iron the canvas and use steam.2. After it’s ironed, you can mount it to a blank canvas to make it easier to paint and keep the wrinkles at bay. I used a staple gun to do this. ( mounted in pic)3. If you plan on doing several of these- I suggest investIng in your own quality brushes from a craft store or here on Amazon- they make a world of difference.4. Start with the darker colors as it’s easier to fill in with the lighter colors afterwards.5. Try to start in a corner at the bottom or top to prevent touching the wet paint.6. Take breaks in between painting large areas to let them dry. Prevents smudging.

Some numbers were extremely tiny and tough to read. The paint was terrible at first, then I added water to each one and mixed them well, much better to paint with after that, spread easier and could fill in tiny spots. I use my own paint brushes so I can’t review the brushes. I think it came out beautiful, took many hours to complete, but worth the work! It did come in folded and needed to be ironed first. I would buy again, just wish it had a paper with numbers to use as a guide, as I had to guess on some of them.

The photos are a little misleading as they imply that the canvas is mounted on a frame. It is not. It is just the page of canvas and unfortunately comes folded. I used an iron on low setting to get the creases out. Would have been so much better had the canvas been shipped rolled up in a tube. That is why I removed a star in my review. For people who may have less than stellar vision (aka bifocals) painting this can be tedious as there are lots of very small areas to paint. I had lots of neck and back fatigue and ended up ditching the project. Otherwise, this is a fun project to paint. The numbers were clearly printed and the shading on the canvas made it easier to distinguish the areas to paint. I loved the picture and think it would be beautiful when completed.

I have completed many paint by number projects and find that it is best if no paint mixing is involved and the numbered spaces are of adequate size to see clearly and complete within the space. This particular project (canvas) is among the best I have used. It comes with a photo (however small) that is valuable as a visual reference anda clear b&W diagram for determining color locations that might be otherwise difficult to discern. This is an excellent set at a very reasonable cost -- highly recommended.

Paint is very poor quality, the pink requires 4 layers just for the number to not be visible.

This is a beautiful paint by numbers! The paint quality is great - every color went on smoothly and none were dried out. Some numbers are hard to read, but a good task light and a pair of cheaters help!
