BANDAI STAR WARS STORMTROOPER [STAR WARS / EPISODE Ⅳ/Ⅴ/Ⅵ] 1/6 scale Plastic Model Kit

I have been building these wonderful SW figure kits from Bandai for some years, my first was the 1:12, 6" tall Stormtrooper. The ease and simple construction of that kit made it a pleasure to build, and i am glad to say this awesome 1:6, 12" trooper is worthy of the same praise.Designed to be press fit, parts have such fine fit tolerance that they just glide together, minimal pressure is needed, so no breaking parts or thumbs in the process. Parts on the white armour have quite fine attachment points making it possible to do what is usually a big NO NO in model building, simply twist of the parts and clean up the area. The black parts suffer thicker attachment points so use cutters to remove parts. One starts with the inner structure adding joint sockets and multipart knee and elbow joins, the building the armour up in stages and then final construction see all tye parts being brought together. There are three weapons to use, the initial test shot pistol, E11 and MG42. There are optional hands but sadly not enough parts to buold all hands so as to simply interchange, one has to split fingers from palms to achieve full display options.Once built this figure is fully articulated and many poses can be achieved with the various weapons provided. Instructions are clear although much text is in Japanese. Colour pictures represent paint and decal placement. A really nice clear stand and base is supplied which is a very nice touch. The figure can either be gripped round the waist by means of a clamp (not a great method as it is quite loose) or by means of a peg that fit into a hole in the troopers botty.My only few gripes that are levelled here are sadly copied in the rest of these great kits, terrible decals and stickers that are unusable if you want a nice clean decal look to your markings. I painted the helmet mikes silver and used a black marker pen to add the ear piece black stripe. As the decals are adequate only for flat surfaces i used those provided for the helmet air vents and the blue tube stripes, decal setter and softer was used.This is a gorgeous kit, but there is one point that struck me as odd, a point that made me ask "Why do it like that?" And that is the fact that construction of the helmet is such that when complete one is left with a rather obvious seam line along the bottom of both side tubes, and it just looks wrong. The 1:12 does not have this issue and looks way better for it.

This kit was,so much fun to build, no glue needed like all the Bandai Star Wars kits, this is all new mouldings ( so it's not a scale up of the 1/12 th kit) . The three guns you get are also excellent kits in there own right. The head! I've read a lot of off-line reviews stating that it's to big, well it is, but not as big as the reviews state, it hardly notices. This is a stunning kit! And at £50quid it's a bargain compared to the Hot Toys version which is about £345quid, so for that money you could get seven of the Bandai one's so you could have a Stormtroopers squad of your very own, or not.

Amazing kit. Easy to build (took me a little under 3 hours), no glue or paint required. Looks fine alongside my other Sideshow and Hot Toys 1/6 Star Wars figures. Very white and shiny. Cannot recommend highly enough.

This model kit is awesome excellent cheap alternative to expensive £200+ Hottoys figures loads of detail and can be easily customized

The attention to detail is fantastic and it was great fun to build, although expensive it is worth it.
