Starting and Maintaining A Successful Home Care Business

Where has this book been all my life? :) I found this book after I had already received accreditation for my new home health agency. I bought this book because I love to learn as much as I can and also to see if there might be some information included that I hadn't learned already. I can honestly say this book is legit and gives you all the basics to lead you in the right direction towards owning your own agency. This book provides what so many of owners, (like myself), had to research and find out on our own. I wish I had found this book while I was in the beginning stages of opening my home health agency and it might have saved me some time on things that took me forever to figure out on my own. Even though my agency was in the beginning stages when I found this book, I was still able to walk away with some valuable knowledge. I am always reading and doing research and feel as if I can take just one thing away from any literature I read then it was worth the time. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to start a home health agency and don't know where to begin. I would also recommend this book to anyone in the beginning stages of their agency because this book is full of valuable information. I give this book 10 STARS!!!!

I ordered this book along with 3 others but by far this is the book I have read twice. Very detailed, organized, and takes you step by step. The best part of the book I love is when she tells how her bad experiences was when starting. Most people make it seem like everything is all peaches and cream but Ms Tammy gives it to you straight raw and uncut. For her to be a African American woman giving the advice makes it even better because these days my people want to charge you a arm and a leg just for advice or help. Thank you again for your book. Especially the forms in the back. Please grab this book. It’s AMAZING!

This book is what I have been looking for! Starting a home care business from scratch can be tough. You quickly realize that you could use some help but the problem is.....NO ONE WANTS TO SHARE ADVICE! That is certainly not the case with this book. Tammy Lewis has written a book that will give you a great start and a much better insight on getting your business off of the ground. This book will definitely reduce the pressures of the who, what, where, when and how's of starting a home care business and will inspire you (her personal story and testimony of loss and recovery) to keep pushing through to success. Her expertise and business know-how clearly shines through! If you're starting a home care business, THIS IS A MUST HAVE!! Thanks so much Tammy!

This book was very thorough. I appreciated how much ground it covered. There were a few publishing mistakes. Other than that, the book is well organized and easy to read.

This book is written in a simplistic fashion but, it covers all the aspects of business startup. In addition it has those aspects of business startup that are key for a person starting a home health agency. What's missing are the state specific requirements.

The book was great it help me think of things differently

A wonderful book. Will read Several times as it is packed with useful information. The author really wrote this with the beginner in mind, I don’t feel anywhere near as lost as I didn’t before reading.

Two of the chapters were the same content but the chapter titles were different. The content for the chapter "Naming the Business" therefore was omitted. Random duplicated print appears at the end of the chapters. The editing or the actual printing has blatant errors. I had paid a little more for this book bc the content advertised appeared to be of good quality. It has been difficult to get past the printing errors.
