Non-PWM fans can be controlled by adjusting the input voltage. Supporting both 12V and 5V fans with 4-pin PWM and 3-pin connectors, the NA-FH1 is highly flexible and suitable both for PC environments and other 12V- or 5V-based applications. It can be powered either via its S-ATA input (for 12V fans, up to 54W) or 4-pin PWM input (for 5V and 12V fans, up to 24W), both of which are protected against overcurrent with a self-resetting fuse for maximum safety even in case of short-circuits on the connected devices or cables. The two ports can also be used concurrently with the device, automatically taking power via S-ATA and exchanging RPM and PWM signals via the 4-pin interface. Up to 54W via S-ATA and 24W via 4-pin When powered via it’s S-ATA interface (for 12V fans only), the NA-FH1 can run fans with a combined power draw of up to 54W. When using the 4-pin PWM input only (for 5V or 12V fans), the maximum power draw can go as high as 24W. Caution: Do not place directly on hard disk drives, keep at least 5cm distance. When powering via the 4-pin input from a PC motherboard, please check your motherboard manual for the maximum current of the fan header and make sure not to exceed it. It’s even still directly on Noctua’s website with information and “buy now” links. **Q: Can you control each fan or group of fans individually with this hub or all they all bound to the first fan header?** A: All bound to one. **Q: Could you connect a D5 or DDC pump pwm cable to this if you wanted? Are each connection a separate channel or will all fans run the same speed?** A: Regarding the D5 or DDC Pump, I would not recommend that for reasons that will be apparent in answering the next part of your question. The channels are not separate. This is a shared PWM “bus” of sorts. Power and PWM send signal are distributed to all of the ports, but a single port is used for sending feedback i.e. RPM of the fan. This really only works well when you have multiples of the same device or device type that you want to drive with a single PWM signal. **Q: why is it always out of stock?** A: I was able to get one recently. It’s probably because they have the fan controller dial you can add on.
