I have been using this Robinair vacuum pump (15800 VacuMaster) for automotive AC work at home fairly regularly (approx: 25 - 30 times now) since I purchased it through Amazon.ca Feb 2015. - So far this vacuum pump has worked flawlessly for me with no issues at all. - It's reasonably quiet compared to other cheaper lower CFM vacuum pumps I have used in the past. - It does its job quickly and smoothly as it should since it is an 8-CFM two stage pump. - The oil level indicator window is easy to see and judge proper oil level and cleanliness. - The oil drain valve is located in a good position for quick and easy draining as advertised. - It's a sturdy product that is clearly built to last. - At this point it gives me piece of mind knowing it's a quality product and it's ready to go for me anytime I pull it out for use. Not much else I can say about this pump except in my opinion it's a good investment if you are looking for a worry free quality vacuum pump that should keep working for you for years to come as long as you take care of it and change the oil when needed. I hope you found my review helpful. Rick...

It worked really good to vacuum my mini split line and it did it pretty quick, it runs very quiet and it didn't get particularly hot running for 45 minutes. I didn't have any issues with it spraying oil or anything, it just worked as intended without any problems. The build quality is really good and I'm pretty sure it will probably out live me. I would say that it's worth the money. FWIW I vacuumed the mini split on a stormy day with lower pressure overhead and that allowed for a slightly stronger vacuum than what would be normal at this altitude.

This unit has been used in the repair/recharge of 2 chest freezers, and 2 auto air conditioners....THEN....it is in its second year of providing vacuum for a home milker. We turn it on 2X a day and milk for 30 minutes....flawless performance. It will power 2 Surge milkers with no problem. We change the oil completely about every 4 months. A good source of inexpensive oil is a local Farm Store that supplies Dairymen. We put a pipe on the exhaust, as this unit will throw a cloud of finely atomized oil fog. We just pipe that outside. VERY GOOD QUALITY UNIT FOLLOW UP...... I was concerned by the increase in oil "fog" that the machine put out. I thought that it could be rectified with a repair kit. My call to Robinaire yielded results...and an honest admission. My pump was said to be fine. It puts out more fog when the humidity is higher or more moisture is present in the system. The tech told me that there is no "repair" possibilities for that pump..."It is a cheap Asian import". I still rate it highly. But a person with heavy use and long-term needs might want to upgrade to a rebuildable pump. It is working fine for nearly 2 years now powering a surge milker. FOLLOW UP # 2.... I should have been a Prophet. Our pump is barely working now after 2 years of using 2X a day to milk. I bought a Gast 1/2 hp 1023 off Ebay for $260. I would have bought that first if I knew then what I know now. This pump is EXCELLENT for refrigeration/air conditioning work. A normal person probably won't wear it out in a lifetime. Real AC mechanics buy rebuildable brands. The Gast is designed to run 24/7 for 5-7 years before a new vane kit brings it back to 100%. The Gast is NO GOOD for refrigeration work.......but it is the better choice for milking. I can offer a lifespan estimate for this of about 500 - 700 hours. I changed the oil often. that works out to about $ fifty cents an hour until failure.
