I already had the bed, it’s the Furhaven Jumbo napper.1st. The package is heavy but once it’s assembled, the frame (jumbo) is not as heavy but still a little weighty. It is made entirely of wood.2nd. These are real wood slats.3rd. The legs are metal and wood and they are also heavy.The assembly instructions are clear, lots of pictures. If you have ever assembled something from IKEA, you shouldn’t have a problem here.The slats have to be screwed into the frame and it provides great support. My dog (95lbs and growing) sometimes likes to Superman into the bed and it’s nice to know I don’t have to worry about the slats popping out of place.Be careful cleaning the frame, despite it being pretty it is covered in veneer. All the parts were there and all the holes lined up. Pretty easy to put together. We did end up screwing in all the slats as they were loose and rattling and scaring my dog every time he got on. I got the medium for my 28lbs bichon mix. It works because he likes to curl up but it would be too small for side sleepers this size. I initially ordered a Furhaven bed with 3 bolsters for on the platform and it made the area too small to sleep.
