It comes very sharp, and despite it's size is surprisingly easy to handle. A great outdoorsman or bushcraft knife. I've found it useful cutting down thicker plants in the garden too. It's also thick enough to baton with, if you needed to. My only minor complaints are that the handle scales were uncharacteristically rough for a BeaverCraft knife, and the leather sheath is not as nice as some previous ones.
