Q: how do i find/get noaa sw station like what frequency is it on?

There are two different models of this radio. One receives AM, FM, and SW. The other receives AM, FM, and the NOAA Weather bands. You cannot receive the weather bands on the short wave model.

Q: What a nice set; who makes it?

I guess rysamton it's the only name on the owners manual or radio it's Chinese it comes with earbuds but no power cord it takes a 3V power cord you would have to buy separate I've used it as a clock since I bought it I guess over 6 months ago and the batteries are still showing full charge it takes 2AA batteries but I guess the brand is rysamton

Yes, it can be set for 9khz medium wave. Short wave is the same all over the world.

Q: Does the radio get loud enough to hear on the beach. I just need a small radio that I can stick in my beach bag and listen to baseball by the ocean

No way to turn off clock. So battery runs down quickly, even if you are not listening. I do not recommend this product.
