Let’s first begin with the packaging. I purchased the 16oz tin. It is packaged beautifully in a box with its own opening tab that you pull and the box opens. I then noticed the spoon was packaged outside the tin, thank you for not burying it in the matcha like when you get protein powder and you have to be an archaeologist and find the scoop! The tin was vacuum sealed, upon opening, do it slowly or matcha will fly all over, I noticed the matcha had a nice color with an earthy smell. I have been drinking matcha for years, even before it was a fad. I have tried a lot of brands, sweetened and unsweetened. I like a nice earthy taste to my matcha with a hint of sweetness sometimes, but not always. I always mix my powder with hot water first with a hand held frother. I added two scoops because again, I like the earthiness. It blends very nicely and I got a little froth which is great. I then added my protein non dairy milk and some ice. It tastes fantastic. Nice and earthy and as you can see has a nice color, it’s not brown which you can get from bad matcha or low grade leaves. I will keep my tin in the fridge for freshness as the ingredient will stay fresher. It is also nice for days when you don’t want the coffee buzz as this is low caffeine but a sustained caffeine. Coffee gives you that quick boost that doesn’t last, matcha is a long slow boost. All in all I am very pleased with the product and 1 ingredient list and would recommend to anyone who enjoys the natural flavor of matcha.

For the money, you really can’t go wrong with this giant, one pound can of matcha powder! At just over a dollar an ounce, this will go a long way without erasing your bank account. It comes in a tightly sealed metal can similar to ground coffee, without a plastic bag inside the tin. I’ve tried several much more expensive matcha powders, and I’ll explain the main differences between this DNA matcha and the others… The DNA matcha powder is on the duller green side when I compare it with the bright green color of more expensive matches, and while the aroma is there, it definitely doesn’t ‘jump out’ like the others. The seal should preserve it as it was when packaged, so this blend might not use the freshest green leaves of the more expensive brands. With that in consideration, if you’re really used to the good stuff, you might be disappointed, but this matcha is still better tasting than a few of the pricier ones. There is a very slight bitterness, but I can live with that. If you like to bake with matcha, THIS is a steal. I really like matcha lattes and smoothies and tend to use double the powder in my drinks to get a thicker and stronger flavor. This size package will be perfect for me, but I expect it would get stale if you’re a casual user. I’ll update my review if I note a lot of oxidation or bitterness before It’s used up. The texture of this matcha powder is excellent. It blends without lots of little clumps, and results in a smooth, slightly gritty consistency. It froths nicely with either a traditional matcha wisk or a battery powered one.

I absolutely love the quality for the price! I've started using this as my coffee replacement in the mornings. I love it too for boosting my health. I don't feel sluggish by noon and it's just enough caffeine to get me going without jitters. I've always loved the earthy flavor of matcha and this product delivers that. It's prefect for the morning matcha latte and blends smoothly, and I cannot resist it's beautiful green color. I appreciate it has no sugar and I can dress it up to my desire. The amount you get for the price is amazing.

I go on matcha kicks and I like this brand, not sweet at all but great quality! I started liking matcha from Dunkin so I was surprised when it wasn’t sweet but it still tasted better! I can’t drink coffee because it makes me antsy but this drink doesn’t! I also feel relaxed when I drink it in the afternoon. I like mine with milk and sugar

As an old dude (81) I have relied on Earl Gray black tea, or coffee, for a stimulating buzz. But they always end up leaving me with a tightness in the gut after a few days; plus this seems to prevent deeper sleep. Macha is new to me. I got a product with Macha and other ingredients which I mix into a morning fruit smoothie. I have to say that I do get a nice wake-up stimulus, and without the bad side effect. Thus i am now trying pure Macha by itself. My initial report is that it tastes like seaweed to me, but if I find using it in the morning proves to have less side effects, I will continue it and I'm sure my body will learn to love it.

I'm no matcha connoisseur but I love getting a Matcha tea once in awhile from a Thai place as well as eating Matcha chocolate when I can get my hands on it..with that said, wow this stuff is amazing. First thing I did was add it to some milk, ice & sugar & a blender.. it was delicious. I can't tell the difference between this and any of the $5 Matcha tea's I've purchased in the past. For the amount (16oz) and the price I paid of $19.99, I feel like this is a very fair deal and will buy again at this price. This will be a staple in my kitchen from now on. Will be making my own Matcha chocolate soon as well has hot Matcha chocolate drinks for dessert. No more waiting till I stumble upon the nearest Thai restaurant to get my fix.

I keep wanting to love this matcha powder but the taste just isn’t as it should be. It’s not bad for the price, but you can tell it’s not the highest quality. Great if you makes lots of matcha things but for a nice cup of hot or cold matcha tea, there’s a very bitter aftertaste
