Surprisingly comfortable.
Fed up with having a bulky waist bag on my rucksack belt I felt I needed something closer to hand and more readily accessible.OK. This attaches to my rucksack strap very easily but does need a carabiner to stop it sliding down. Luckily I don't use chest straps as they can't be used with this attached. The camera mount means a tripod can't be used easily without removing the locking mechanism. However, as this system is suited for getting your camera to hand quickly it doesn't really matter. If you are setting up a tripod shot, a bit of extra time removing the lock won't matter. I use a nikon mirrorless. Most pictures show the camera held with the lens pointing down. The weight of my battery means the optimum position is lens to the side. Not a problem. You just have to align the lock nut accordingly. Large split ring is provided to attach the strap to the camera. The strap differs from the photo. It is now a three way strap, don't know why. To allow enough room to bring the camera to your face the strap is best connected at the top. I will use the bottom d-ring to attach a waterproof cover... the only downside is that the camera is open to the elements. When fitted the sleeve is very comfortable. I expected it to dig in but there is enough surface are to negate this. The velcro does not catch. The stitching looks robust and it seems sturdy enough. I will have to check the lock nut is screwed in properly. I see the manufacturer supplies an improved version of this. So, I think this stands up against it's more expensive competitor and, for me, is a great system for Backpacking and hillwalking.

Best bang for buck out there
I wanted a camera clip for backpacking but was shocked at the rip off prices of the brand name P**k D*****n which didn't even look that great. Stumbled upon this design and it had a test on the thru-hike July 2022 in the Dolomites on the AV1 trail.I was using a Fuji Finepix HS20 bridge camera which weighs 770g with the batteries in it - pretty average size and weight. Wild camping so a heavier pack with thick straps, an ExPed Lightning 60l.Function: Really good. It hung the camera really well and was easy to get off for pictures. Putting it back on could be fiddly and some folk have said as much but it was just practice. I attached the 3 point strap which was long enough for pictures, had to be a little creative with my pack here in clipping it on.Position: I had to place the holder high up and clip it to a D-ring on my pack, and this left just enough room for the chest strap to be used lower down.Comfort: This is the worst part of it because the thick straps were a little to broad for the wrap around and it was exposed a bit which cause a little discomfort, but not much. Not convinced the Peak Design metal ones would be any more comfortable. One issue is that the camera is exposed completely, you'd get this on any clip. In rain you should put the camera away completely, no cover will give you protection. And when putting the pack down the camera is heavier than the strap obviously so it will just fall - be careful! It is also very lightweight, tough fabric and plastic, I didn't feel like it would break or come off at all.Overall it's a bargain and I think with a smaller pack strap would work better than a thick one like on mine. I'm thinking of buying another because it is so cheap to butcher and see if it can be fixed on using the mechanism rather than the velcro wrap supplied, purely because with a 12kg pack on hours of trail it could be felt on the shoulder a bit. Don't let that put you off because unless you want to spent x5 more this is the best about.

Fits nicely
Rating changed from 5* to 3* because of below:Before using it:I'm taking it out tomorrow around London as a way to protect my neck and back as I wander around between shoots. Looks as if it's going to be pretty handy as the camera won't be bouncing around and I'll have two free hands when required. It'll be used with the neck strap and wrist strap though - not taking any risks that the camera could work its way out, or get 'nicked' in a crowd too easily!!!After using it: Gee whizz - this was SO annoying yesterday. I had it on the strap of my rucksack but getting the camera on and off was a total pain. I had to keep taking the rucksack off to get the right angle for the camera to come out.I'm not giving up on it - I'll try a camera bag and also strapping it around a belt, which I think will actually be much easier... may have to fiddle with the straps but if that works as it could, in theory, it'll be a great thing.Being hands-free in between shot locations was very nice, though.

Handy Piece of Kit
So, I recently did a climb up Snowdon on Watkin path I brought my DSLR but it had a hand strap which was fine up to a certain point until I required both hands to climb which led me to miss some good storytelling shots. I had heard of these devices in the past but didn't think I'd ever want one, so after I came down I went onto Amazon and found this product and bought it.I have tested it on several backpacks, my recent being my hiking/walking backpack, the first one being a regular Swiss backpack; There are comments about the velcro causing issues with clothing but I've not found this case I've simply made sure the velcro is fully covered by the pad and this has fixed any issues.... Overall I like it camera is where I want it to be, both hands are free, I've no discomfort from wearing this holster at all. It's secured by two straps so you don't even have to put it back into the slot. Be aware that this will only allow you to bring the camera out of the slide when it is aligned correctly.

Worked well, and a snip compared to the main competitor
This fitted securely and comfortably to my backpack. It never felt like the Velcro fastening would give way. The clip that attaches the camera to the holster is a bit awkward but a bit of care each time is all that is required, and that is perhaps wise anyway. Once on the flip your camera can waggle around a bit but it didn’t feel like it was going to come lose, and combining it with a simple Velcro wrap strap around the lens stopped this too. And for the price, when compared to the leading brand alternative it is a steal!

Ben fatto
Lo trovo ottimo da zaino. Avevo dei dubbi su un paio di cose ma il supporto mi ha risposto prontamente e in modo esaustivo.

It's a no from me
I was really hoping for a great product, but got disappointed. Its big and clonky, doesn't fit right on any of my backpacks, slides, and makes the backpack hang weirdly if you have a large lens on the camera. If the velcro is a tiny bit exposed it might damage your shirt as well (happened to me!).If I wouldn't have been so lazy I definitely would have returned it, as I have only used it once since I got it.I am instead thinking about getting the "Peak Design Capture Camera" that is smaller and can be attached to basically anywhere (backpack, belt etc).
