Amazing production lights with one small caveat.
These Neewer lights are EXCELLENT for streaming and make for a great competition to Elgato lights. The lighting isn't harsh and it is easy to use these lights with digital controls. That said, I could not get the desktop application to work with the lights on Windows 10. However, I checked the phone app and the phone application works perfectly. You can turn the lights on/off with the phone app and change the light settings with ease. So long as you are comfortable using the phone application, and do not absolutely need the desktop version, you're good-to-go with these. Highly recommended for their great color, brightness, lack of harshness, and ease of use!

A great key light for the price
Fantastic key light. Extremely bright if need be and the perfect addition to my desk setup (clasps to the side of my desk with no issues). It has controls on the top of it but honestly the app works so well that I just stick to using that to control it. Definitely recommended.

Works great and can be controlled from my Mac
I own five Neewer LED panels I use for music and talking head video in a small studio. They're too large for use at my computer desk, so I bought the NEEWER GL1 Pro. It's not nearly as soft as even a 12 x 12 softbox, but it is bright enough I can turn it around and bounce off the wall for a softbox-like effect. Amazon's product listing claims this panel is 15.5 inches, but that measurement is wrong: the panel only is 11.5 inches wide, not including the frame. If you include the frame, it's 13 inches. The actual specs further down the product page have the correct measurements. So the GL1 Pro is a little smaller than the Elgato Keylight. It appears well made with a metal outer shell, metal 1/4 inch tripod socket, screen for power and color temperature, and physical controls. Compared to my other Neewer LED panels, the physical controls are tiny and fiddly. You'll want to use Wi-Fi or the 2.4 GHz dongle to control it. It's heavy for the size, so lock it down tight on the decent quality supplied ball head. Unlike most panels of this side, it can't use Canon or Sony batteries, so you're limited to use with a wall wart. Color temp is a notch warmer than my other lights, so if you mix lights, you may have to cool the Neewer 1 or 2K. After installing the Neewer Control Center app, I was able to sync with Wi-Fi immediately on my Mac Studio M4 running Mac OS 15.5. The app is basic, but brightness and white balance are easy to control with sliders. It also works with my Elgato Stream Deck Neo: on/off, levels, WB, etc. Oddly, the Neewer Control Center app needs to be on for the Stream Deck to control the GL1, so not a seamless integration with Stream Deck compared to the Elgato Keylight system. You have to wait for the Newer app to load and connect to the Stream Deck—about 10 seconds on my Mac Studio. Once loaded and connected, control is almost instant. It's a bit undersized, and Stream Deck integration is bit weak, but all in all, a nice light for desktop use: bright, good quality of illumination, multiple control options that work, and well made.

Excellent key light for tight spaces
Very high quality key light. Easy to use in small desktop studio spaces so I purchased another to replace the Gl25B I bought as a fill. I can’t use the clamp on my desk so purchased these stands. Clamps are stable though.

Very Well Made Top Quality Product
UPDATE: I'm leaving my original review but changed my rating to 5-star because I use this light every day at my desk as a lamp. So, it gets about 3-4 hours a day of on time. It's still going strong. Very well-made and top-quality item. I'm impressed. I've had it for two years now. I now use it for video on about 31% at 5400K. The only reason this NEEWER GL1 Pro light is not getting a 5-star rating is the lack of instruction/manual for the many functions that are controllable through the desktop and phone app. Phone app is loaded with options. Could not find anything, anywhere. The light is awesome and very well made. Top quality. I've read some reviews saying the light is not very bright. Well, that is just not true. I sit about 3 feet from the light and have it turned down to about 45% brightness with an ISO of 100 and shutter speed of 60 and am getting plenty of light with reasonably accurate color. BTW using an inexpensive Elgato Facecam(not the pro).

Decent for the money, but flawed in some ways
This is a decent light/stand combo for the money so for me, it was a definite upgrade from the older Neweer lights that I had prior. I can't say much about the app functionality, because I didn't need it necessarily, but I would give it a 4 if it hadn't flickered on me when I had it run for a few hours. Still conducting some tests, but so far, the total stars: are 3.5/5. Pros: -It's compatible with Apps, although the experience and success may vary. -"Softbox" is built-in so it is decently diffused. -Comes with a stand and ball head. -The housing seems well-built and durable. Cons: -Dimming switch and most of the switches on the unit are very flimsy, making it difficult to make precise adjustments. It feels like it can easily break. -The mount/stand has two knobs in the back that do not allow you to have your setup sit flush to the wall. Elgato's Master mount doesn't have this weird design choice. -It doesn't come with cable clips for wire management. Again, REALLY? Almost all brands that offer this type of stand include one, but this one doesn't include a single cable clip. -Wobbles incredibly even with the knob tighten as securely as possible. That includes that ball head that I have it mounted to.

I’ve had other key lights and ring lights in the past and think this one is my new favorite. It’s very easy to install and it comes with a very sturdy desk clamp that gives you lots of options for adjusting the height of your lighting setup. The app is very easy to use on your phone, which also allows you to customize the type of lighting for your needs. Very highly recommend!

The lights were fantastic, while the worked. I have had them for less than a year and both died. Im not certain if it is the power adapters that burnt out or the lights themselves, but they do not work any more. As I am 11 months from my purchase date Amazon will not assist and I was instructed to reach out to Neewer for support. I did so, but Neewer is not honoring their 1 year warranty period for items purchased through Amazon. Im basically SOL on the two of these that I purchased, and they were very expensive for what they are. Beware if you are purchasing these that you will not be helped if you have any issues with them. Edit: after much back and forth for several weeks, Neewer has finally agreed to send me two new lights free of charger. I have raised my star rating accordingly.

Safety: In Canada, anything connected to the power line should conform to some CSA standard defined with Canadian Electrical Code, this is validated by ETL/UL or other certification entities. This device is certified, at least the power supply is. Power supply comes with decent wires size, which is not always the case with other products, but since wire size is part of the UL recommendation, this is one more reason to check for this. Power: The lamp consumes 42.3W at 4900K, the maximum, 26.7W at 3000K and 37.3W at 5600K where I may use it mostly. This is a decent lamp power for the size, and this power is measured after the power supply. The power supply itself consumes 48W at maximum, for an efficiency of 88% which is good. Illuminance: The lamp provides 4200 Lux (not to be confused with Lumen) at 0.5 m and 1200 Lux at 1 m. This is a pretty good lighting, maybe too much for a desk light. My personal target is around 300 Lux for video; thus it may require to be dimmed depending on the distance. The measurements are for 5000K, it is reduced to 95% at 5600K and 64% at 3000K. The beam is wide, a good 125 degrees from 50% to 50%. Memory function: Power and colour are stored, and restored when turned on. It also works when disconnected, after reconnection, the lamp if off, but when you turn it back on it come back at the same setting. Remote: I tested Bluetooth, which work as advertised. I also tested the DT-100 Pro remote, which works good, but is limited to 3200K from the remote. Both tested remote controls are one way, so changing the lamp setting locally won't update the app or remote reading. Size: Panel size is not specified in description, 13 1/16 in W, 9 1/16 in H and around 1.5 in thick, but requires some extra for the cable. Stand: An OK stand, better than a cheap light stand, but there are better options, still, it does the job well. 2 sturdy sections, the top section rotates freely. The adjustment range is currently not in description, the stand goes from 13.75 in to 23.375 from the table surface to below the ball head. Add 2 inch for ball head. Overall, a good lamp, it will replace one of the soft boxes I'm using to shoot at 2-3m in my office. For close shooting, I will continue using my small 10W panels, which are enough. I did not test the 2.4GHz dongle, as I run Linux on most of my computers. I would probably pick the GL1 for that reason, or the NL-288ARC which both have a slightly lower price with slightly fewer features, you pay an extra for the dongle and Bluetooth, but this is a nice option as I can't always turn the lamp to see the adjustments.

I'm really impressed with the quality of this Neewer Key Light. The light is well-built and not cheaply made, which is evident as soon as you take it out of the box. The light is designed to be used for streaming video, and it allows you to adjust the brightness and colour temperature to achieve the perfect ambiance. One of the things I love about this light is the fact that it can be controlled through an app on your phone or computer. The light has a built-in 2.4G wireless USB transmitter, which you can plug into your PC or Mac and download the "NEEWER Live 2.4G" app to enable remote control. It also works with Stream Deck via a plugin. You can also control the light through the "NEEWER" app on your phone via Bluetooth. The light is silent and fanless, which means that it won't negatively affect sound recording. The light is also flicker-free and has excellent color rendition, with a high color rendering index at CRI97+ and TLCL98+. This ensures accurate colour reproduction for video use. Due to the large panel size, it also provides a very soft light on the face and looks quite professional. Overall, I think the GL1 PRO is a fantastic product that is well worth the investment for streamers or those looking for high quality Zoom/Teams lighting. It comes with a desk clamp to hold it and can be adjusted to the desired angle easily, which is great for anyone who wants to save space on their desk. If you are serious about your lighting, this soft light panel is perfect for you and will satisfy your needs.
