Orchid Club: Paris: The Complete Trilogy

I LOVE L. Dubois!
Miss L’s writing is absolutely incredible in the “Orchid” series!! This is the 2nd trilogy within the series and it’s just perfect! Solomon and Vivienne are soo perfect for each other and their love and attraction are so powerful. I love that we get to see into the past and better understand what went down that affects where they are presently. It was easy to see why neither of them could let go of the other. The best part about a second chance romance is that it is always so much sweeter the 2nd time.

Good, but Frustrating Too
This story is a well-written emotional journey of two people whose internal dysfunctions years them apart and what it takes for them to be truly together. I guess my problem is that it seems unrealistic that two intelligent people with self-insight take so long to actually communicate honestly, given that once you know the particulars of their break-up, it's fairly pedestrian.

Book review
This was a three book set about a couple who were engaged but business became an issue when family pressure took priority over relationships. Then they meet again by accident and all of the previous pain comes forth but also it gives them an opportunity to reconcile

Very good
I got the trilogy and was thrilled. I had read the first book before the second and third came out, but did not realize the series was completed. It is very good.

Loved it!
Solomon! Wow what a Dom! I was so captured by him. His story is everything I want in a Dom. Vivienne was so hard to like. so many times, I wanted to slap her hard! The author did such a good job bringing these characters to life! Bravo!

Ugh. More bad BDSM, weak plot.
Dear 50 Shades,Thanks, with complete sarcasm, for making bad BDSM fiction A Thing. Because that made books like this A Thing, and I keep reading them in hopes of good BDSM fiction, and ugh. There is so much wrong with this series, but I'll let the lead - er, sub - character share: "Nothing Celeste had ever taught her provided direction on how to deal with a drink-off with a former lover in a sex club, while surrounded by people who knew the story—or at least some of the story—about their acrimonious split."Spoilers, disguised as reasons why this is bad BDSM.* Getting rip roaring drunk at an exclusive, extravagant sex club.* Which is serving alcohol by the bottle in glasses.* Which break, injuring a character.* Who is bandaged together with essentially Kleenex and gauze by the worst show medics anywhere.* Blackout drunk fighting, with said injury.* Thus getting kicked out of said club...*...but you're cool, so you can come back tomorrow night.(Slow frustrated contemplation about if I should DNF the book. It'll get better, right?)* Play on a very exclusive, fancy piece of gear in said exclusive club - a padded mat.* Complete ridiculousness involving a faux emergency, subspace, and an anal hook.* Cliff hanger ending!(I should have DNF'ed here. Much regret.)* Super wealthy Dom with his own island, including dungeon.* Makeup sex, scene, whatever.* Cliffhanger ending!(I'm 2/3 of the way through the trilogy, may as well finish.)* Kidnapping. That's totally non-consentual, not that consent or negotiation seems to matter At All here. Have I said ugh recently?* To a Dungeon Yacht.* Yes, you read that right.* With a guy in charge out-Dom'ing the lead character, with contracts that almost, nearly talk about consent...* ...before they're ripped up in fits of anger.* Oh, hey, therapeutic submission.* A relationship almost entirely based on a D/s relationship, while explaining while those are so much stronger than vanilla relationships, because of communication.* Thus discussed by two people who Did Not Communicate for the majority of the trilogy.* The expected HEA.Ugh.

Absolutely loved this trilogy
Book 1After battling through a couple of troublesome arcs, I decided to indulge in a low expectation read. So colour me incredibly surprised when this turned out to be quite an engaging, emotional and utterly captivating read.Solomon is absolutely to die for, so gorgeously sexy, so stridently dominant and so sweetly caring. He doesn't make the best of first impressions when he flies all the way to Paris to warn James not to fall in love with Christiana, though he is doing it from the best of intentions. Having been left both emotionally and physically scarred by the one time he fell in love with a sub, Solomon doesn't want his friend to suffer the same fate.As the book progressed I fell in love with Solomon, there really wasn't anything to dislike about him. No wonder that ex-love and sub, Vivi, couldn't say no to him. You've read the blurb, so you don't need me to tell you that Solomon takes a second chance with the woman who broke his heart. Their scenes together were hot, the chemistry in their own words explosive.I felt actual BDSM play felt fairly tame, though also entirely suitable for a couple who haven't done a scene together for several years. It didn't need intense BDSM, the connection, the emotion and connection between Vivienne and Solomon was all the book needed. By the end of the book I felt totally invested in this couple.Normally it's either the male that stuffs up - or at least I feel it is his fault - but this time the fault all lies with Vivienne. I can't wait to see how she makes things up to Solomon in Paris Punishment!Book 2Whilst Vivienne still hasn't completely atoned for her "sins", or fully accepted her part in the breakdown of their relationship, I do really like her. I am totally invested in Solomon and his HEA, and clearly he wants that to be with his Vivi, so I'm rooting for a reconciliation! The ballroom scenes were equally sensuous, beautiful and emotional but the one that followed of Solomon watching Vivi sleep - that one was heartbreakingly intense. I find myself totally and utterly convinced about the depth of their feelings for one another.I'm just glad that I don't have to wait for the next book!Book 3The conclusion to this trilogy was all I wanted and more. Both characters totally redeemed any previous misguided behaviour and, despite a few stumbles along, found their HEA. It wasn't easy and involved helicopters, a BDSM boat (oops sorry - ship) and the help of one very odd man. There were times I would have happily throat punched Nerio but I had to grudgingly accept that without his *ahem* unusual tactics Vivienne and Solomon may well have NOT gotten their act together, so he's forgiven. This was a wonderful mix of BDSM, action and emotion packed scenes. Once started I quite simply didn't want to put the book down and I also didn't want the story to end. There wasn't a single thing I wanted to change about the story and my only wish is that I could read it for the first time again. If you enjoy really good second chance romance, a don't mind BDSM scenes in the story, then I definitely recommend this trilogy.
