This devotional challenged me to experience my relationship with God in a very different and open way. When I read things in the actual scripture passages that didn't seem write, I referenced other versions of the Bible: NIV, NASB, The Message. I could the understand how Brian could come up with his translation/interpretation. When I didn't comprehend how Brian could interpret the scripture for the devotional content, I read commentaries of the verses to see if he was off track. By so doing, I was able to continue with and through this devotional to the end. I recommended it to clients, family and friends. It's a new and different perspective that influenced a lot of spiritual growth in me.

I’m not new to Brian Simmons devotionals. I’ve ordered several and have found that they all come in beautiful bound, nicely compact books with ribbons to save each last page. The ways they are written are on point and go straight to the heart. This was gifted to me by my 12 year old. I know God loves us all but I struggle to feel it, or really, really know or understand it. This devotional book has been so encouraging and thoughtful for me to read. I don’t read it everyday but when I’m feeling especially down I’m certain to reach for it. It has spoken words of life and love into my heart and soul. I’m looking forward to gifting this to others hoping it’ll encourage them as much as it has me.

Really like this translation, and the cover is beautiful! Would be happy to take it anywhere. Began reading it as soon as I received it and it is so intriguing it is hard to wait to read the next day's page. Just want to keep reading! Also bought Isaiah and I love it too. I cannot say enough things about this book as it is so inspiring! I have experienced more of Jesus Love, through this Book and also the other books that Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriguez have written together. I can feel that tugging at my heart from the Lord as I read this book. He is calling my name out loud, once again! I highly recommend all of these books as they will bring the love of Jesus back into your hearts. I am overwhelmed and undone by being able to read and meditate on this book as well as the other books that they have written. Next to the Bible, I highly recommend THE DIVINE ROMANCE and the other books that they have written. It will change your life.
