It does the job of bashing a cabbage. You have to clean and dry it thoroughly or it will absorb bacteria and go mouldy The only way to get rid of the bacterial growth is to take off several mm of wood until you get down to wood that hasn't been infected. A real hassle.

The pounder is very solidly made and is larger than it looks which was a good surprise. I haven't tried it yet but sure it will do the job well :-)Thanks
