I recommend. - This being released around the same time as Black Tie White Noise, it makes an interesting link between that and Outside. Black Tie in my opinion was mostly a pop sounding record with some hints of jazz. Where Outside (perhaps his most original album along with Blackstar) is much less pop and a lot more jazz and something total new. Buddha of Suburbia is very much a perfect blend of pop and jazz right down the middle. Every song is really good. It has a bunch of original songs recorded in a studio and should be considered another studio album. This has a slightly less "produced" sounding version of Strangers When We Meet that is different then the version on Outside as well. So all in all, this is another Bowie album worth owning due to it being yet another Bowie album filled with great original material. Review: Bowie Esoterica - Everything Bowie recorded was fairly easy to relate to. After only one listen, it's nearly impossible to say anything coherent On a second listen, I almost always discover something I missed first time around. I failed to get it when it was released in the late 1990's. I was overjoyed when I found it on Amazon.
