As some one who is a bit more handy/has more DIY experience: YOU CAN TOTALLY DO THIS!
Great addition to an older cooler. Just make sure you have the proper size/length for your cooler wall thickness. No leaks, no breaks, works great, would (probably will) buy again. As some one who is a bit more handy/has more DIY-ish experience, YOU CAN TOTALLY DO THIS! But, before you go cutting holes in your cooler; double and triple check your sizes, use a spade bit or a hole saw drill attachment to get a uniform hole cut, buy a small tube of caulk to line the inside of the cut cooler hole if needed (better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it), proper wrench/socket sizes as these pieces are plastic and using vise grips will damage the product and possibly your cooler.

It Worked
Easy to install and did the trick. The old one wasn't tethered to the cooler anymore so, you had to keep track of the cap.

Good fit
Plug was broken on my Coleman cooler. This was a great replacement. It was easy to install and fit well. Glad to find it so can continue to use the cooler and not buy a new cooler.
