Recommend for the novice or the seasoned quilter. Review: One great home machine! - The Juki TL-2010Q is a great sewing machine and a must have for anyone looking to hem or repair their own clothing at home. I’ve done everything from sewing plushies to hemming denim pants that my other computerized sewing machine struggled with. This machine came with additional specialty feet - including one that I thought was crazy looking until learning it’s for sewing slippery fabric (hello minky fabric!), an extension table and dust cover. The machine itself is very sturdy, and is easily repairable at home if needed. The body construction is magnetic - which allows for the use of seam guides that attach with magnets (my other machine is a plastic body and seam guides do not work with it.). This machine also has suction cup type feet that are very strong and keeps the machine from “walking” across the table when sewing at high speeds.

WHEN IT WORKS, MY PRISSY MACHINE DOESN'T SEW STRAIGHT. THE JUKI TL-2010Q SOLVES THAT PROBLEM.
After viewing a video made by a quilter about the Juki TL-2010Q, I realized that it was exactly what I needed for my sewing, which ranges from clothing alterations to quilt piecing & actual quilting (i.e., sewing the quilting design onto the assembled quilt, which can be done by lowering the feed dogs). I already have a prissy, very expensive machine that does lovely fancy stitches. The problem with it is, when it works. it does not sew straight seams. I couldn't figure out what the problem was. I tried tension adjustments, visits to the machine doctor, and giving up on projects that I really wanted to finish. The young lady who did the video about the Juki said that this machine was perfect for piecing & quilting, which she demonstrated. The Juki is a straight-stitch only, which is not what so many of us are accustomed to, but it is so easy to operate and sews at rocket speed. It is also a well-built, heavy machine that doesn't creep around the table. It is used in industrial applications so it will last a long time. The price was much lower than my prissy machine's. I think it's a good value for the money.

There are some downfalls to this machine but the quality of it makes up for that
I needed a new machine and after seeing so many Youtubers and professional crafters rave about this machine. I sew almost everyday so I sprang for it. It's quite pricey but I think this will probably be my last machine due to the quality. I should mention I had a babylock Joy prior. I was intimidated to use it to be honest. I read the entire user manual, then watched two Youtube videos and felt comfortable sitting down with it. After using it for over a week now, here are some of my observations, there are quite a few negatives but they were more annoyances that I will adjust to but thought others might like to know. - You can't see the bobbin like another reviewer mentions - You have to oil it everyday that you use it. It comes with a small bottle of oil and it's messy. This is something you will have to have buy in the future if you sew a lot. -You can't switch feet with ease. I used to be able to pop off my feet and use different ones constantly, now you have to unscrew the feet and they're hard to get on and off. They are not compatible with basic machines. My teflon foot for example is useless unless I use it on my Joy. -Threading the machine takes longer. On my Joy I could thread the machine in about 2 seconds, now there are so many more contraptions to put it through, it takes longer. I will probably change out my thread colors less now because of this. I have my Joy set up still and use the colors on it while I use basic white with the Juki. For now. -I was surprised that I already broke a needle. I never broke one before and I was going slow over a zipper. That was a shocker. -The bonus pack: not sure what that is. It comes with 3 feet (regular, zipper, walking), oil, needles, tools and 8 bobbins. Just the basics. All this is worth it though, it's a great machine and I understand the hype over it. The thread cutter is worth it's weight, no more wasting thread. It's my favorite feature. I can use a thread cone on it, finally, always wanted to use these. It's very quiet, I read a reviewer said it was loud, it's not and maybe she's not oiling it daily. It's powerful and steady. Now when I use my Joy, I can see the difference in quality. I almost returned it due to all the above complaints but decided that I just needed to get used to it and I have. Great machine.

This machine is a workhorse! It is sturdy and does the job!
So far, I love this Juki sewing machine. I used to have a less expensive sewing machine with lots of bells and whistles, but this one, is a straight forward, hard working machine. I do find it hard to use the automatic threader option and learning how to wind the bobbin has been tricky too, but I have only done it once or twice, so I am sure there is a learning curve. I have watched videos which help, but still it is a work in progress. Once threaded, this machine is far and away superior to every other machine I have used. It sounds smooth and its parts are sturdy and legit! I adore the thread cutter and assume it will save me lots of thread in the long run. I do miss having a zig sag stitch, but I knew that going in. So far, other than being a bit tricky to set up, once done, it is a dream.

Great machine!!!!
I liked this machine so much, that I bought my daughter one. While there are a few annoying things, I can honestly say this is the best machine I have ever had. It is great for quilting, and I love that it is heavy, doesn't move around. There is one problem with her machine, however, the needle threader doesn't work. After looking at it, it is easy to see the hook misses the needle hole. I did all the trouble shooting trying to get it to work, and it wouldn't. Mine works well. I have contacted Juki about sending another needle threader part, to see if it is just a defective part. I would highly recommend this machine for anyone interested in free motion quilting. It is a powerhouse.

I debated forever on purchasing this machine. I am so glad I took the plung! I was so excited when it arrived almost a week sooner than expected! I took no time at all setting it up. I actually found the automatic threader easy to use. I used it to complete a project I had started. It is super quiet, very fast, and the stitch quality is second to none! Don't know why it took me so long to decide to purchase it. I am extremely very happy with this machine. I highly recommend it ten fold!

Nice stitches, very even. Threading is a bit complicated compared to what I'm use to, but okay once I've practiced a few times. Threading needle was very difficult going by instruction manual but okay after watching a video using a flashlight to see small parts. Overall, I'm very happy.

Unfortunately the Juki TL2010Q I received was a lemon. It was over oiled, over lubricated and smelled of burning electrical. I’ve owned Jukis for years and never had this happen before but it does and when things go wrong, you want a seller that deals with your situation in a fair and timely manner and that is exactly what I got with this seller. They were awesome to deal with, and I would definitely buy another machine from them. Highly recommend!
