Must have and very effective Aventis ("balanced" batches) clone. I find most companies recent clones to be too sweet- this has a nice smokey birch tar hit that is balanced out with the pineapple/ sweet smell after the drydown. The sweeter clones are attempting to copy the "pineapple bomb" batches- 2017 being the sweetest (Other Afnan Supremacy, and Dumont Nitro clones come to mind) . This is a clone of the more balanced batches (2011- 2013 as an example). Over all, I loved the fact that it smelled so close to the Aventis that I know and fell in love with. Keep in mind batch variations when selecting your preferred clone. Their was the Smokey Era (Armaf kills these), Balanced Era (this one and some Armaf's), Pineapple Bomb era (the other Afnan Supremacies), and they even had batches in 2018 that had a really well balanced Vanilla smell mixed in which was actually nice (don't have an example for that). The current batches- F Series Batches- are back to the Smokey over sweet (to me). Some companies even clone very specific batches (11Z01,13Z01, 17X01, F Batches- Alexandria Brasilia line [4 variations], and Bujairami Kingsman and Ripper Clones come to mind). Alright, enough mansplaining as the kids say- just get it. A GREAT addition to your collection that mimics what Creed Aventis used to be and should be!!! PS- I have loved Creed for a long time, and on many fronts, they were the gold standard. BUT the new Creed post Kering purchase absolutely isn't worth the money- all of them last no more than 2-3 hours (Believe it not- Aventis Cologne lasting the longest). If you are a brand only person (with money), and want the collection to look rich, have at it. If not- Afnan and Armaf (and lots of other UAE companies) are a great place to start smelling great. I have gotten so much compliments when I wear this, but what I love most is the fact that it last all day & even when I'm doing laundry I can smell it on my clothes, its a must have!!

So far, Wow. I can't believe the staying power of this cologne. And it smells great.

It goes on pretty strong, harsh, and a bit chemically, but give it half an hour to an hour and it starts to mellow out into something really nice. To my knows, it's got allot of citrus and pine type smells at first. After it mellows, I get something darker that's kind of woody and leathery, and a bit of a fresh, floral sort of thing going on too. This stage lasts for several hours, and IMO that's when it really shines. No joke, but the first time I wore this for a whole night at a convention, my girlfriend at the time nearly jumped me as soon as I got to her hotel room and sat down on the bed close t her thanks to this stuff. LOL After the first several hours, it stays on your clothes for a couple of days as a really nice, subtle scent with allot of the bite taken out of it. Pretty much like a nice laundry detergent might. At first I really felt like this stuff didn't really suit my personality to be honest. It made me feel like a try hard attention seeking rich type. But once I brought it down to just a single small spray on the throat and made sure to only apply every couple of days, it really started to grow on me as a more subtle expression of my Indian half, and my not overly masculine or feminine personality. It's really not bad for the price, and despite the standard, arbitrarily pretentious name, I think it deserves a try especially if you would like something that integrates some Southeast Asian fragrances without breaking the bank. The bottle is undoubtedly fancy (it better be since it's probably half the price) but I wouldn't suggest the big one if you're just trying it. If you hate the stuff or you're allergic to it, you'll be stuck with it for a long time. If you really do want this quantity though, then you'll be happy to know that the flatness of the bottle does make it easy to pack away in a drawer or suitcase.
