However I cannot find info beyond wood shredding..** A: I used it extensively for lots of fine branches like goosberry thorned branches and larger such as thick tree branches. Outside a few times a little bit of cloghing at the outlet it shredded everything without any problem even after full days of heavy usage. Really good machine that takes a little bit of getting used to but is very powerfull and never slowed down for anything I put through **Q: Would this machine be able to shred carpet?** A: I am surprised that this question has been asked, but as a wood chipper and shredder, for which this machine has been designed, it is excellent, but as a carpet shredder no way. As due to the nature of the carpet composition, the machine would soon become clogged and bound up. So in summary the machine is unsuitable for shredding carpet. **Q: Does the crankshaft need to be removed to replace spacers for the knives and flailers?** A: Yes **Q: Does this shred small branches like willow whips?** A: The T-Mech will shred up to 10mm diameter twigs, via the top mounted hopper. This is a relatively slow process. I have found it best to feed thinner branches into the side mounted branch funnel. Via this port the T-Mech quickly does its job, but the twigs need to be long enough to enable them to be fed through. A lot of money time and stress . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A lot of time saved not having to go to the recycling centre to get rid of bulky garden waste! *by I***N on 12 March 2021* I bought this machine to shred the vast quantities of garden waste that seem to endlessly appear, it is very good at doing this. Downsides are the position of the exit chute - as there was no need to move the machine I ended up standing it on concrete blocks so I could position a plastic bin beneath the chute - and the effort needed to start it, although it starts first time a lot of people will struggle with the recoil starter. It is also very noisy and can grab things out of your hand if you are not careful so wearing protective equipment (ear defenders, safety glasses and gloves) is essential. The rubber guards on the side entry funnel didn't last long, this may well have been due to them being stiff when I used the machine during cold weather, they were quite flexible when it was warmer.
