Bonjour, 5mm is a good size if that's what you have available. An issue for binding strength can also be any silt deposits on the stones. As a general guide - 2mm to 9mm for stone diameter, 30-40mm overall depth is optimal, angular is much better than rounded, and washed aggregate is also preferable (even if that means washing off yourself and letting the stones dry).

Hi there, thanks for your question. This is a water-based product which can be applied in numerous ways through different spray vessels. We would recommend either a pump action pressure sprayer or a simple watering can for application - these can be bought from most garden outlets. If you were to use an alternate approach, just make sure it is clean, dry & free of contamination before filling with the Easihold product as this could affect the bonding. Will this be suitable for 14 mm gravel on a balcony

Hi! 14mm would be a large stone size for binding, it would depend on the usage if it would be effective. For largely decorative use then it would be fine, but if trafficked regularly then I wouldn't recommend. Thanks!
