Last Resort: A New Joe Dillard Novel (Joe Dillard Series Book 10)

I have read every single Joe Dillard novel at least once, others several times. This one is the most difficult to read, but I was unable to put it down. Good thing I am on vacation, because I never left my seat, not even to eat!! Though many parts of the story were traumatic and painful to read (I didn't survive childhood unscathed either), there was resolution, closure to the story. There were heroic actions by several people, despite great risk to themselves. But, in the end, it was love, and the pureness of human spirit that won out despite the overwhelming evil that the families faced. Resilience. I cannot think of a better word. Sorry, Mr Pratt. You will not be able to easily top this one.

I’ve been looking forward to the fam wrapping up Scott’s Joe Dillard series. It surpassed my wildest expectations. I just know you’ve done Scott and his beloved wife proud. Thank you so much.
