Perfection
Jescie Hall does it again! It is no secret that I am utterly obsessed with this author and will devour everything that she writes. I opted to experience the audiobook first with this one, and truthfully I finished this a while ago. But I had no idea how to start my review for this story. This was a very emotional experience for me, I absolutely loved this story and to experience Kid's story, I loved him from when I met him in Hawke and I was not disappointed with this. This book touches on a lot of things, including mental health and addiction. Whilst I have no experience with addiction, I could fully understand the mental health side of this and some of the things that Kid would say or think touched me deeply. This book is absolute perfection, from the start to the end I was immersed in this story and didn't want this to end.

Great!
Love kid and hans story. Was very angsty, raw, sad…. I felt all the emotions reading this book! A true pill at your heart book. My heart broke for Kai, but slowly Han mended it. They healed eachother. Loved Cam & Cole being present too!Jescie handled the subjects matters so so well…Another fantastic read from Jescie.

An okay read, but without much plot
I’m a huge fan of ‘That Sik Luv’ by Jescie Hall, so I was excited to read another one of her novels. This book follows the relationship that’s developing between Kai (Kid) and Johanna (Han), as they navigate their own personal struggles with addiction and trauma. The story has some nice moments, and overall it’s an okay read, but it felt a bit frustrating to me at times. The FMC is a typical ‘manic pixie dream girl’, which I don’t vibe with personally, and her behaviour had me wanting to bang my head against the wall. Everything about her is quirky and unobtainable, and it felt like the story kept going round and round in circles as the MMC tries to grapple with that, right up until the end.Aside from the romantic plot, there was a hint of a sub plot involving a drug ring and some kind of ‘set up’, but it felt like nothing really came of it. There was hardly any backstory for Kai, although perhaps some of that is included in ‘Hawke’ (I didn’t realise they were a series).Overall, this book was good enough to finish and I enjoyed some of it, but I wouldn’t rush to recommend it.

This book is metagalactic !
Jescie’s writing is beautiful, and she holds you captivate with her story and characters from the very first page. And Kid is funny, and unfiltered he finds and obsesses over Johanna aka Han a lost soul, she deals with her inner turmoil.KID is different from Hawke and is much darker and more complex. Kindly read the TWs before starting. And the book is in MMC’s POV – KID and I loved that and enjoyed exploring through his mind. The bond between them is filled with angst and explores self-discovery for both characters.Overall, if you enjoy reading about shattered characters mending their broken pieces together in a beautiful journey read this book. I do recommend and not missing out on Hawke before reading KID

I’ve read all the book, now what?!
I honestly think this one was the best one. I’ve managed to read all 3 of this authors books in just over a week and this one was by far the best.Every book has its own way of making you feel like it’s ok to be who you are, and you’ll always find someone just like you.

Obsessed with Kai & Han
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶🌶🌶🌶Please check your triggers, as this deals with heavy themes.I delayed reading KID for a long time because I knew it would put me through a rollercoaster of emotions, and I honestly wasn’t ready for it. And let me tell you, Jescie, put me THROUGH IT!I went through so many emotions while reading, immense sadness, laughter, heartbreak, happiness, disappointment, and most importantly, I felt love. The only thing I regret about KID is not picking it up right after I finished Hawke. The writing, plot, and pacing were perfection. The spice was top tier. The story itself was raw. The power of addiction and the lasting effects our childhood trauma has that lingers with us throughout our adult life was too real. They both struggled with their own demons, and it was sad, but reading how they fell into each other and healed together was beautiful. Kai & Han were everything 🥹🥹🥹

A truly epic experience
Audiobook review: Narrated by Joe Arden and CJ BloomThis story, first and foremost, is so emotional it left me with a true ache in my heart. The book is written in first person but from Kai/Kid's POV which is a refreshing way to experience a romance that I really enjoyed. Kid's vulnerability had me crying for him so many times. Then we have Han...this girl is amazing on so many levels, but the struggle she experiences through the majority of this book is heartbreaking. The way Kid loves her with such intensity was epic. The depth these two characters have leaves so many levels we get to see uncovered and keeps a healthy interest in their growth throughout the story. I love the journey of their relationship, from the very first meeting through the epilogue. Not only is this an important love story, but I love the mental health and addiction representation and the way it's portrayed so realistically. There is a heavy list of content warnings that should be heeded, even if that is not something you typically worry about. The subject matter is represented in depth so it's best to be prepared. This audiobook had me speechless for a long time. I literally had to sit and recover from the experience that was Joe Arden and CJ Bloom bringing Kid and Han to life. Not only was this one of the most beautifully written stories, the performance was so exciting and entertaining. If ever a performer was born for role, it is Joe Arden as Kid. I lost myself listening to him fully embody this character. Chapter 6 alone should earn him all the awards in the world. CJ Bloom as Han was perfection. She captured every emotion so well, and there were a lot of them. She has so much personality that really shone through in her performance.I highly recommend everyone listen to this on audio, whether you've read the book already or not. It truly is an epic experience and has cemented both the author and the narrators as some of the best in the business.

Jescie can do NO WRONG 💯
I don't know where to start. I was deeply moved by this story. These two individuals struggle with their respective demons and somehow find their way to each other (in a crazy twisted way). It was great to read how they were able to rack each other's brains to decipher each other's feelings. Patience, frustration, desperation, all the emotions you feel when someone seems intangible were perfectly illustrated here. Jescie Hall can do no wrong in my eyes. This is yet another masterpiece I highly recommend.

Obsessed
I didn’t know how many times my heart can break in a single book; I’m feeling all the emotions rn! Smut aside (which is top tier btw 🥵). The depth of this story really speaks to your soul. It touches on issues like mental health, addiction, and death in a way that truly makes you feel and think in ways you didn’t know you could. Jescie, this book is a masterpiece and you’re a damn artist! 😮💨🖤
