I received the four box version with the unassembled frames. The description clearly states a stainless steel excluder is included, but the package had a plastic one. I test fit a dove tail and it went together. Seems all parts were there but no brads or screws. Dove tails have no pilot holes for screws. Glue might be adequate will be using exterior glue. Maybe add nails. Waxed plastic foundations need more wax. Box might need painting on the outside to withstand time outdoors. One frame top bar was broken from where box was dropped during shipment, so shipping box should have lifting holes for your hands. All in all, it looked really good in spite of the damaged shipping box.

This double deep set-up was the best deal on the market by a mile when I purchased it for roughly 160. You have to watch this thing because the price goes up and down quite a bit. If you notice the photos, the same hive is also being sold by a variety of sellers for a variety of prices at the time I am writing this. So look around, it's probably all the same seller either dodging reviews or it's a wholesale kit. Bottom line? You can't make one of these domestically in the US for the price I paid.The packaging was just so poorly done, I wouldn't be surprised if you got a busted piece. One of the sides of a medium I received was broken and I had to cut my own but the seller was SUPER responsive and we worked out a small refund to cover the cost of the wood I had to buy and my labor.The hives are the correct dimensions for langstroth hives and the dovetails were cut probably better than I could do it. A lot of the kits floating around are made with simple box joints and I like the dovetails much better. I used 2-inch 6d galvanized finish nails on them after gluing and they seem bulletproof. I used 1 1/2 inch wire nails and brads on the frames and they also seem very well made and durable.Almost verything in the kit was pine, but the knot holes were nicely filled. Surprisingly, the inner cover is cedar, which I thought was a real nice upgrade as I plan on using an inverted mason jar over it as a top feeder.I have bought two of these kits now, and I would say you can buy with confidence so long as you understand that if your mailman drops this thing, you might have an issue or two.

Was warped out of the bag, plus 2 frames broken. None of the corners align properly, plus the metal lid included is starting to break after very light use. Good enough to "get by" if money is tight, not quality.

These came quick and were perfect. There are LOTS of pieces to put together but it's not hard to figure it out. You will have to paint them before use. We will probably be buying more soon.

Box came torn up, 3 pieces were broken apart but easily fixable. Directions are a bit lacking in details. Assembly is for someone who is a DIYer not a novice. Would have been nice to have the screws and nails included in the kit,

Purchased this to use to expand my current hives, was easy to assemble and fit perfectly.

With this purchase I did not get the metal Queen Excluder as was stated in the description. Had to purchase nails to put together. Love the hives no defects in the wood so they shouldn't split. Just wish there was a way to contact seller for the completion of the order or a refund in the price of the Queen Excluder. I've been looking for a seller of this product. Looks like I'll continue to look.

i like the ease of assembly and quality of the product. only had 2 issues. First the add did not say that nails were not included. not a big deal as i went and got some. Second the add says that there is a stainless steel queen excluder which was not included in the package. But as soon as i contacted the seller they rectified the situation and refunded a part of the charge to cover the lacking excluder. overall the product is exactly what I expected and i enjoyed putting it together.
