Works Great Without the Control Box
I purchased this to be installed and used on the 1996 Chevrolet 3500 pick-up equipped with a hydraulic dump bed which we use as our air side operations truck at the airport I work for. I mentioned the dump bed because of how that accessory influenced my desire to find a yellow and white strobe bar which offered just a simple 12 VDC, on/ off functionality, without any of the 4,000 flashing patterns we didn't need.I do NOT like to install any accessories in vehicles or at my home which looks like it's temporary or just shoddy. We had been using a small 18" strobe which required that we run the coiled power cable in through a window to plug into one of the 12 VDC receptacles in the middle of the dash. Nevermind the annoyance of having to go through the motions of placing it on the roof and stretching the cable through a window any time we need to use the truck, and disassemble everything after we were done to be able to close the window, it looked as amateur hour as it sounds. I had never been satisfied with the little baby strobe bar as it was, so I started to figure what I needed and how I was going to make a clean, almost stock install to replace it.It didn't take long for me to find the ideal solution which came in the form of a factory toggle switch located right at the top of the center console which was labeled "Bed Light". First I wanted to see if this bed light actually worked, and then figure out if I could splice into it with a light bar. I was happy to see the light and switch worked perfectly, but I was also pleased to realize that I wouldn't be splicing into the light's power, I would simply be replacing the load. The truck's aftermarket dump bed was designed with a horizontal "lid" which basically extended from the front of the bed wall over the cab at about 6-7 inches above the roof. The light worked great, but it was lighting up nothing but the bottom of that lid. So long light, now it was time to find a light bar that could be wired onto that switched circuit and have no issues with just turning on and off with the introduction of 12 VDC. Boy did I underestimate how easy that search would be.After a week or so of searching high and low, I couldn't find a single light bar that didn't have an additional cable with a big ole controller box which would have allowed me to toggle through God knows how many strobe patterns, none of which I cared anything about. As long as they all go blinky blinky when turned on, I'm happy. I started coming to terms with the fact that I would likely need to modify one by removing the box and cable, but as anyone who messes with modern electronics knows, there was no way to tell if the stupid thing would even turn on without it's computer chips in that box.I asked the question and the Amazon AI system assured me that I could do this but then would tragically lose all the fun functions. Not entirely certain I believed it, I placed my order and crossed my fingers. The good news is that it absolutely worked! That said, I was really hoping that I would be able to disassemble the unit and find the terminals where the controller box cable connects to the light bar circuitry, and spent a good amount of time digging and digging. Ultimately I gave up and got my linemen pliers out to neuter this dog. And with a sharp "SNAP", that lightbar will never be able to achieve the greatness it was born for, but it works great for us!

Water damage.
I ordered this and loved it at first.. I’ve had it for 9 months. One side stopped working and now is steady on. While the other side still works and responds to the controller as it should. It looks like moisture has entered both ends and is discolored. Not worth the expense for the lack of quality.

Best bang for the buck.
These took a little work, but fairly easy to install. The lights are bright, the magnetic suction cups hold strong. Definetly worth the money

Good light
The media could not be loaded. This is a really good light it’s nice and bright. That video was in the middle of the day so you can definitely see it. The only issue I found with it is that the directional arrows are opposite maybe because it’s made in China and they drive on the other side of the road that’s why they did it that way, but if they’re gonna sell in US, they absolutely should make it so that it’s correct the wires go in through the passenger side. You’d have to put all the wires in through the driver side of the vehicle in order to make it work right but even on my Acura if you do that, it makes a mess overall it’s an awesome light.

Worked for just over a year
Used on K9 Search and rescue vehicle. Light worked great for just over a year. Vehicle is garaged and not used very often. Light started turning on randomly and draining the battery. Controller would not turn off the light and would have to pull the fuse. Removed from vehicle as reliability is no longer acceptable.
