Grelim Premium Purple Sweet Potato Powder 8 Oz, Pure Natural Ube (Purple Yam) Powder Gluten Free Vegan Non-GMO 227g

I wanted to find a natural non-gmo purple food coloring for my homemade cream cheese frosting and this worked great! I used two teaspoons of powder for the beautiful color in my frosting in the pictures and it tasted delicious! I sampled the powder before using it and found it has a nice flavor slightly sweet and wouldn't clash with my homemade frosting, in fact it enhanced the cream cheese flavor with some delicious tanginess! My daughter LOVED it! It seems to be nutritious too and can be used in smoothies or baked goods. I made sure it would be safe to use raw without cooking it first (unlike turmeric) and it was so it worked perfectly! I always hand mix my ingredients first then use the mixer afterward to avoid powder sugar going everywhere so I am posting before during and after pictures to show the rich purple color. This is my first time buying or using purple sweet potato powder and I really like it and will definitely buy more in the future! Great natural food coloring! It is a small package but a little goes a long way so I will be a repeat customer and highly recommend this!

I bought this to make ube cold foam for my matcha and lattes. It had a great ube flavor. I add it to some sweet cream and froth it so get a nice foam. I will say that when you use too much it can be grainy. It’s an easy to use powder since it dissolves quickly and gives such an amazing purple color. You get a lot of powder for the price so I definitely think it’s worth it.

I bought this expecting something closer to ube or taro powder, but it turns out Purple Sweet Potato is not the same thing! That’s on me for not knowing. I only bought this to use in matcha and cold foam and haven’t tried baking with it yet, so can’t speak to that. The color is pretty, but it can shift blue depending on what you mix it with. It’s also a bit grainy, though mixing it with a little hot water first helps a lot. Flavor-wise, it’s more earthy/roasted and not sweet on its own (kind of like smoky bacon notes??). I didn’t love it plain in the foam, but adding honey (especially lychee honey) made it much better. Overall, it seems like a decent product if you know what you’re getting - just not a true ube or taro flavor.

I use this to make purple sourdough bread and I also add it to my oatmeal. I decided to give this brand a try after not being able to find the other brand I was using and it's just as good! Tastes great! Plus, I get more product with this one! Win!

I use it in small amounts added to ground wheat bran, ground flax seeds and wheat germ... Because it adds healthful anthocyanin's. It will color ANYTHING deep purple ! I can see why bakers would use it as coloring !

This powder is wonderful for cooking or you since smoothies. Very clean and a great way to add something healthy to your diet.

Tastes as I would expect, but the powder is very pink. If you are looking for the classic purple color, I would look elsewhere.

I love that it doesn't have sugar and it's really easy to mix. The powder itself doesn't have that much taste, but it is delicious on coffee or matcha drinks when you add some sugar free sweetener.
