So much better than pins alone!This is a good kit, but it does depend on what you want to use it for. In its favour I would say that it:- had plenty of wires so you can block more than one piece at the same time- came well packaged in a strong storage tube delivered inside a delivery box (it seemed to be an issue in the past that it was posted in the tube but they have obviously stopped this practice)- the yard stick is less prone to stretching over use as fabric tapes can so gives a more accurate measurement.However, I wanted to use it for blocking scarves knitted in 2- and 4-ply cashmere and found that:- the rigid wires were a little too thick for the fine yarn and left marks on the piece once dry; you need to be extremely careful how you thread through the piece to avoid this- the wood on the yard stick was unfinished and, while not exactly rough, it did catch a little on the fine yarn; a coat of varnish would have helped- there weren't enough t-pins if you were using all the wires at the same time; I had some already so not a big deal but would recommend you get some extras if you don't already have them- being American the yard stick is exactly that, a yard stick - no metric measurements! I didn't really mind this as I am of the feet and inches generation but could be a slight issue if you want to work in centimetres.Took just under 3 weeks to arrive, which was about the middle of the delivery estimate, and to be expected since coming from the US.Overall, I would recommend this product to keen knitters and would have rated it higher if I had been using it for blocking garments. But if, like me, you are working in very fine yarns then the finer flexible blocking wires would be better. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Knit & Lace Blocking Wires Kit- *by H***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 February 2014* Have only used these once and now realise they are easily bent if not handled carefully. I am new to blocking so I lack experience.
