This unit has the capability of doing a huge area. The 3 fan speeds dictate how much you need or want to cool. The F1 speed is whisper quiet and even with it right in back of me as I'm watching tv it does not interfere. F2 and F3 can be a bit noisier than I like but in trade, it's doing the job well. My Great Pyreneese gives it five stars. She lays in front of it curled up like a big pillow. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. It's heavy at almost 100 pounds and generally requires a tow man lift unless you can lift that kind of weight. I highly recommend the unit. I can only imagine the job it would do in an apartment.

This is a powerful and extremely quiet ac unit. Had a problem with my first one where the fan attached to the motor must have been slightly bent and it created a loud humming noise that was annoying and could possibly shake the AC out of the window. Contacted Amazon and they shipped another one immediately and just had to box the old one up and send back. Installation is definitely a 2 person job and that’s coming from a larger man. It is just too large and awkward to carry alone unless you have a 7 foot wingspan.

What a surprise! It is basically soundless AC. We just installed it yesterday and had a deep sleep not even recognizing that it is running. Another positive side of this AC, the quality of air. It's fresh, no smell of working AC, and easy to cling removable filter. The size was scary... but when it was installed, its looks clean, simple and modern. We love the new LG AC! Highly recommend. Requires 2 people to install the unit.

Right off the bat, this would be a 5 star review if not for the installation process. Laying the box flat you'll take out the front clip of the unit and become aware, this is not an open the box and put it in the window unit. The instructions have you remove the main unit from the casing. Then install the casing to the window and slide back in the actual AC. That part isnt difficult. The difficulty comes when trying to install the black clips that support the sliding sides... they just are not built to go in. I had to use pliers to bend parts of the casing in order for these clips to pop in. You also will likely want to get a support for the outside, as its pretty heavy. The sill supports provided dont work if you have slanted sills. I ended up putting a support rod in from the end of the unit to the ground. The actual AC once its installed is GREAT. Its VERY quiet at full force, and pushes the air very well.

over one year later... and still incredibly impressed! I bought this for a sunroom where my large dog stays during the day (reference, it has to survive the Georgia heat). This AC is so efficient and gives me such a piece of mind to hook to my wifi to make sure my pup is ok. It honestly keeps that room cooler than most of my house and I did not see a big difference at all in my power bill. I will definitely by again if needed. Perfect value, perfect functionality, and amazing cooling ability!

Fins came bent, and damaged. I figured whatever maybe it'll still work went through the process of installing it turned it on and it made a really loud bang sound, startled the heck out of me. So I opened it up to investigate further and the main inner fan isn't balanced correctly causing the plastic to scrape and eventually catch against itself. I might have gotten a bad unit, but honestly I really recommend you guys plug it in and test it before installing. Will be returning mine.

I bought this a year ago may. It replaced an AC unit that was in my house 30 years ago when I bought the place. This unit is super quiet and the 12000 btu cools the 12 x 16 room its in pulse the adjacent dining room 12 x 12 with very little effort. With a fan in the hallway it helps the bedrooms a fair bit. Not bad for $500. I rarely put it on the 2nd setting. Hope it lasts as long as the other one.

I’ve read some reviews saying this is too loud. Not sure what kind of A/C’s they used before, but this product is quiet and powerful. Have full sun in the afternoons and this cools the entire third floor.

took the place of two smaller units...does it's job well!
