If I leave these in my freezer they become hard and retain a lack of heat for some amount of time after removal.

The fact their flat make them so convenient for space in freezer and lunch box.

These packs are thin, work well for a lunchbox! They last 4ish hours, it is perfect for lunch if taken in the morning, if you need cooling for more than a few hours I would recommend a thicker ice pack. This is a package of 4 ice packs, highly recommend it!!

I got this originally for my son's Bentgo lunch bag. I put his Bentgo box in there, with one of these on top and on bottom to make sure it stays cold and it works really well. I started using these for our picnic lunch tote and they work just as well for that, too. We haven't had any leaks and since they're flat, they freeze fairly fast.

These 4 Bentgo Ice Lunch Chillers can keep food/drinks cold for a short time that does not last long.I tested 4 of them,they were not suitable for a 48 QT chest cooler. If you just use this chillers for small lunch box for less than 4 hours, it may be suitable.
