![Grey Wolf - Escape Of Adolf Hitler [DVD]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91xeFgMrdML.jpg)

History tells us that Hitler died on 30th April 1945 by committing suicide with a single gunshot to the head. But what if history is wrong? Based on interviews with eye witnesses and years of dedicated research, this film dramatization explores the possibility that Hitler didn t die in Germany at the end of the war, but instead escaped from Berlin by air and made his way to Argentina. This is the gripping story of what might have happened; the CIA s possible involvement, his life in Patagonia, the escape routes and the astonishing fact that Hitler may have had two daughters.

IT'S TIME THE HISTORIANS REMOVED THEIR HEAD'S FROM THE SAND
Excellent DVD. It's about time the mainstream historians removed their head's from the sand and admit there is now more evidence to say that Hitler, and many other, high ranking Nazis escaped to South America before the end of the war. I assume, like many scientists and archaeologists they live in fear of losing their jobs if they don't stick to the mainstream. There are no facts to dispute the evidence in this DVD. There were many ways the Nazis could have escaped and many are shown in great detail, with excellent evidence, in the Hunting Hitler series, shown on the History Channel. Once again it seems we have been lied to about much of our history, as we have our origins, going back thousands of years. It's time the history books were re-written.

Interesting and thought-provoking
While I'd heard the story that Hitler did not commit suicide, this is to date the only source I've come across that is a sensible portrayal of the theory. Eyewitness testimonies are included and woven into a coherent story. While I wouldn't state that the theory as put forward in the DVD is definitely true, neither would I say that any of the material comes across as fabricated or unreasonable.

A Good Quality DVD
The DVD came on time. It was not damaged. Easy to open and sealed well. It was what I expected. The casing was great because now I can preserve the item all the time by slipping it into the case and now know I don't have to worry about whether it will get damaged. It was perfect and reached me in good quality.the DVD is in good working order and is interesting to watch. The rating of the film is excellent and is suitable for what it said it was-rated 15.

Well made and interesting but why so painfully s..l..o..w........
If you are buying this then you are probably aware of the subject matter and the level of research that has gone into it - so there is not much point in moaning about that. I suggest you listen to the free pod cast on 'The Unexplained with Howard Hughes' where Gerrard Williams talks about the 18 trips he made to Argentina to research the book. Incidentally, a writer would never make profit on book sales (in this category) to come close to covering that expenditure, so a level of personal dedication has to be the driving force. As for the film, it actually is quite well made - the acting and cinematography is very respectful and it has the look of a decent TV drama / doc. But, and this is a really BIG 'but', the pacing is unbelievably slow. No editor would ever edit a film or drama to look like this. This will never be shown on TV in it's current state. After 20 minutes I had to watch this at double speed and it was still slow. In truth, it is a good and interesting 30 min TV dramatised doc. spun out heavily to an unwatchable 90 mins. A great shame as there are some good production values in this. I can't imagine the pacing was the editors choice, they were probably instructed to stretch it out so they could call it a 'feature'.

Total Fantasy
If anyone out there is seriously considering buying this DVD, please don't.This DVD gives all the appearance of an in depth documentary on the escape of Hitler and his entourage to South America. What you actually get is a very long, drawn out sections of films supposedly based on the witness statements of those who knew and saw Hitler in his new home across the water. The acting in the film isn't bad but this is the sort of stuff you might see on afternoon satellite TV, totally forgettable and kitsch. The real crime of this film is the fact anybody would take the whole thing seriously: I mean it is pretty obvious to anyone reading the testimonies of Hitler's colleagues in the Berlin bunker that Herr Hitler took his own life as did his wife. There is a whole industry of conspiracy theories surrounding the subject which I guess has grossed many people a lot of cash. There has been much written on the subject of Hitler's escape from Berlin but in fact there has been no credible witness who actually saw him or his wife after the documented joint suicide in Berlin; Hitler would have had no wish to live after the fall of the Third Reich and to supposed he made the effort to get to South America is ludicrous. By the way, the film also revealed that Martin Bormann survived the hell of Berlin as well, even though remains were subsequently found which proved through DNA that it was him.Buy this at your peril. If you have to suspend disbelief about the whole Hitler saga you would be better to look at Sky's recent series, Hunting Hitler, which though is as nutty as everything else written about this subject did contain a good deal of unintentional irony which was lost on its participants. Next time you are abroad look out for any dodgy old geezers with comical moustaches as it is a good chance it might be one of Hitler's sons; failing that it will most likely be Lord Lucan going to meet Elvis for a beer.

Excellent companion to the book
Having read the book and finding it utterly convincing it was nice to see the film. Scenes on eyewitness accounts gave one a real feel for the period. The scenery was stunning and period artefacts added to the realism. It would seem very unlikely that a man so convinced of his own destiny and who refused to accept that German was losing the war, even in the later days would commit suicide. All the apparatus was put in place to get Nazis out of Germany, the routes, the funding, the 'friends' in the Argentinian Government. A totally convincing hypothesis.

Fascinating
This story could have made a great drama. It could have made a great documentary. As it is, I don't think it makes a great drama-documentary. As a drama it strangely rather lacks excitement. The actors are very low-key and the relevance of some scenes is hard to fathom. As a documentary it could do with more explanatory commentary. I would still recommend this DVD though because of the fascinating subject matter. Though historians tend to dismiss the central thesis, my inclination is to believe it. Why? Mainly because of the testimonies from the numerous ordinary Argentinians who claim they saw Hitler. Their statements painted a credible and consistent picture. It left me wanting to know a whole lot more about this topic.
