Timex Men's Ironman Training 40mm Watch - Black Strap Digital Dial Black Case

Possibly Timex's best sports watch yet
This is an extremely full-featured watch, and I really like it. With this product, Timex has included features from nearly all of their past Ironman watches, and added a couple new ones, most notably an activity tracking feature. Some highlights:- ICON- & MENU-based navigation. Different from most other Ironman watches, but nice to see Timex taking full advantage of the 100% dot-matrix display.- FIVE different watch face options. None include seconds, unfortunately. One "big time" option maximizes readability with bold digits around half an inch tall. One watch face option includes whatever activity metric you're tracking (steps, distance, or daily calories burned). Note that the product image showing date, time, calories, and steps all on one screen is NOT a display option in the actual watch.- ACTIVITY mode: shows steps, distance, and daily calories burned. Each screen has a bar graph showing daily progress towards goals you can set. Watch retains one month of historical data as well.- STOPWATCH (Chrono): Standard lap timing features, but with multiple display options so you can also see steps/distance/calories for your workout.- TIMER & Interval Timer: Two programmable timers within each mode. One timer and one interval timer can operate at the same time. Timer can repeat or stop at end of countdown. Indiglo flashes when timer alerts sound.- ALARMS: Five programmable alarms, each with its own individual melody and indiglo flash pattern. Each alarm can be set to sound daily, weekdays only, weekends only, one day per week only, or just once. Alarms can display an optional message selected from a long list: Pill 1/2/3/4/5, Rest, Ride, Run, Sleep, Study, Swim, Trip, Wake Up, Walk, Workout, Appointment, Bill, Brunch, Coffee, Dinner, Event, Game, Lunch, Meds, Misc.- SETUP mode: Includes various infrequently accessed watch settings such as time, date, and second time zone. Can also set your physical attributes (height/weight/gender) to help with activity tracking. "Activity" settings allow you to turn tracking feature on/off, as well as setting daily activity goals for steps, distance, and calories burned. You can pick one of these metrics to sound an alert at 50% and 100%. (For example, if I set a goal for 10,000 steps per day, I can choose to receive a melody alert at 5,000 and 10,000 steps.)- TAP screen: Optional feature for starting & stopping timing functions with a tap on the screen. In Chrono mode, tapping will start a new lap.- EAT/DRINK timers: Optional alerts every X minutes to eat and drink while working out. These nutrition alerts only sound during Chrono/Timer operation. In light of all the watch's capabilities and new features, there are a few notable shortcomings worth mentioning:- No seconds display on any of the selectable watch faces. (Chrono/Timer modes do display seconds.)- No option to switch to second time zone. One of the selectable watch faces does show the second time zone in smaller text below the local time, however.- No icons to indicate whether alarm is set, timer/chrono is running, etc.If Timex ever re-releases this watch, in addition to fixing the items above, I wish they would include a few additional features:- Vibrate function. This should be customizable. For example, I prefer activity tracking alerts to be vibrate-only, while alarms and timers might be vibrate+tone or tone only.- Customizable activity alerts. I would appreciate the ability to get alerts for any or all activity metrics (steps, distance, calories burned), not just one.- Optional "halfway alert" for countdown timer, to know when to start heading back home if I'm out jogging.- Better user manual. I am familiar with Timex watches and how they work, so I have figured things out pretty well. However, some features are not explained or just glossed over. (I finally figured out that the "CALIBRATE" setting allows you to override the default steps-to-distance conversion, if you have a shorter or longer stride.)The Ironman T300+ is a large watch, and also a bit thicker than the regular T300 model (presumably to make room for the activity tracking hardware). Nevertheless, it is lightweight, and the silicone band is very comfortable, with ventilation holes all along. The buzzer is quieter than the original Timex T300, though still decently loud. The Indiglo nightlight is bright and makes it easy to read the watch in the dark. This watch is not a smartwatch - it does not connect to your phone in any way. I like this. (However, the "About" menu, which provides information about firmware version etc. also includes a QR code that takes you to the Timex website.)

THIS IS A GREAT WATCH. HOWEVER IT IS USELESS WITHOUT AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL.
I THINK THIS WOULD BE THE PERFECT WATCH FOR ME. EASY TO READ NICE SHARP CHARACTERS ON THE WATCHFACE. LIGHTWEIGHT, C0MFORTABLE TO WEAR.BUT! WITHOUT AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL, IT IS USELESS.

Tracker?
I like this watch, but it is super unclear as to how to calibrate the activity function. I have looked everywhere, but can't figure out how it measures steps. I want to ensure an accurate step count, but the calibration function is purely a +/- percentage. Percentage of what? I dislike when simple watches (most it seems these days) lack clear specifications and instructions. But for simple wear, it is great.

Everyday Wearable!
I really like this watch. It’s perfect for keeping track of time, steps and referencing the date. It can be worn in the pool & shower and the screen is very easy to read. Definitely worth the $100 bucks!

Wold be great if the fo font for the 6 8 9 didn't ake them look almost the same. Got it for poor eye sight but can't tell those numbers apart. Never had this problem with aby other watch

Nice watch
I have difficulty seeing small things and reading small print, so I bought this watch. The Hour numerals of this watch are large and easy to see and read. This was exactly the watch I was looking for. I liked this watch

Performance Features. Simple to Use.
The media could not be loaded. The Timex Ironman T300+ has some great features. What I love about this watch is the large, easy to read digital display. This is convenient for checking the time of day at a glance or in any of the activity and workout modes as well. The watch uses a menu based operating system which is different than other lower priced digital watches I have owned before. Indiglo is the name of the Timex night light for easy visibility in the dark. Overall great product for anyone looking for a training watch with intervals than can be customized as well as cool features like the hydration alerts and performance pacer.
