This book resonated with me a lot. I've been in a recent relationship just like this and the way the author as wrote it is so spot on with how coercion, gaslighting actually is. You are honestly made to feel like you're the problem you're the one being unreasonable. I was actually reading this book whilst still in this relationship and all the time thinking this is me! There is a part in the book which says "I'd crushed him unbelievably... I was the love of his life. I could hear both those things in an afternoon" and that sat with me (that was my situation too). This book was written as a love story yes but it actually helped me too, this type of relationship is not healthy and it isn't me. So I actually want to thank the author for writing this because sometimes books like this can actually "speak" to people especially if reading/books are all they have because they may have been cut off from everyone else. My favourite of the CoHo books so far and the one I've see least about! Love the characters., the plot, the emotions. May have shed a little tear!
