A must have accessory for an all in one hammock hang. Bought to cover a Hennessy Hammock and larger hex tarp all in the 1 snake skin. It all fits nicely. Not so snug it’s a struggle to pack away, but not so loose it flaps about everywhere

adds a bit more bulk to your rucksack if your into saving grams of weight but its worth the extra grams its just so handy to deploy especially if its windy, easier taking down as well as you can pull one half on as you ondo the tie outs now i just leave it in snake skin mode until its needed would highly recommend saves alot of time.

It's pretty much as simple as the title. If you've got a Hennessy Hammock and want to protect it. You need these So there are 2 schools of thought. One, says slide them down your hammock, makes it easier to put away and less chance of the no-see-um mesh getting damaged and torn on brambles or thorns, or just debris on the floor. Once the snakeskins are on, you can take down the tarp and your hammock is protected from the rain. Second school of thought, you have the skins over both the tarp and the hammock. Let me state, I've tried both, and I'm mainly in the first camp. So for the second option. If everything is dry, and you can put away both, you end up with a near compressible sausage to pack away your whole sleep system into. However if the tarp is even damp, that means you're going to get a damp hammock, which I don't like. So for me, I use it just for the hammock. works great for me. Why 4 stars, well they are twice the price of other snakeskins. So that's the main reason.

Works well (I have a large asym HH and tarp). Worth watching a few you tube videos to see how to do this efficiently. Extremely satisfying to put up ones hammock with minimum fuss using these

I already had 2 Snakeskins that came with my Hennessy Expedition Asym 10 years ago These seems lighter and more slick than the originals I have the originals that go over the hammock/bug net core, and then this second set goes over the fly and inner core bundle Even in Ireland's driving rain I can get the inner core set aside still dry, and then a wet fly wrapped in a snakeskin as well without getting everything soaked Highly recommended

First off, snake skins are pretty light and make setting up a hammock and\or rainfly a snap. If you use these, the hammock or rainfly will never touch the ground itself which is nice when setting up. When it's time to tear down, it's just a matter of sliding them back over the hammock and throwing them into a sack. I use a sep. pair on a rain fly as well. I shake the fly off the best I can and use the snake skins for fast tear down. If needed, after a trip, I hang the fly up in the garage to dry more. I can't express how fast snake skins are for teardown so you aren't stuck trying to fold a large fly or hammock to get it back in to the bag. **The vendor that sells these on Amazon ships incredibly fast.** I use snake skins for a Hennessy Deep Jungle XL hammock and their Hex Asym Rainfly 30D rainfly. These weigh 2.3 oz (part #: 167) and will fit the Deep Jungle XL (this is one of the largest single person hammocks available) and the hex rain fly fairly easily. Hennessy also has another pair of snake skins that weigh 3.28 oz (#: P169) and have a wider diameter. If you use the Hennessy website or Amazon to order the snakeskins XL - you will receive the 2.3 oz version - you need to call Hennessy and specifically ask for the #169 version (which is currently only sold with the new larger hammocks). I use the larger diameter for the rain fly because I switched the stock cordage with thicker and longer pieces of paracord. Even with this change, these snake skins still worked, but it's very snug. The larger size just makes it easier to slide them off and on with the thicker\longer cordage. If you aren't doing any mods to the hammock or fly these will work absolutely fine for you - just posted the extra details for the people that use thicker paracord or bankline for extended trips to the woods. Hope this helps some one out. Attached a picture that shows the 2.3 oz version on the left (sold on Amazon) and the hammock version that you can get if you call Hennessy directly. **Again, if you haven't switched out the lines, this will work fine for you and shave a couple more ounces.**

This piece I think is essential, makes packing up much quicker and tidier. Helps to keep your tent out of the dirt when setting up too. Super easy to use/set up and doesn’t add much for weight (certainly makes up for added weight in the space it can save)
