Metal back box 3.5mm thread repair
Worked great to repair damaged metal back box thread, damaged by electrician who used bolt cutters to trim screw, creating a big bur! Decided to fit in non-standard configuration to completely negate any possibility of pulling out. First drilled out damaged thread with 4mm drill. Then bent each toothed end back against existing natural curve (using pliers) evenly such that bar is snug to just loose fit (needs to be even or the holes won’t line up. Then pushed bar in place underneath the lug (just drilled out). That way when you refit your socket or switch the screw will pull the bar tight against the lug. Had to hacksaw the provided screw to reduce length, but if you gently file the end to debur it will still engage fine and not damage new staged bush thread.

Not safe
I am sorry to say, I did try very hard to make use of it but it's not very safe and is easily slid in any direction. I expected it to work and hence order 1 sets of it. But it's not safe to use this for Electrical switches or sockets. It's a temporary solution for a day max until you get the right backbox with the lugs. I wouldn't recommend.

Saved the day
My back box threads were broken away and we didn’t notice until the tiling had been complete - but these worked perfectly.

Useless doesn't fit 25 mm back boxes
Was trying to avoid replacing a back box with a broken mounting lug and the inevitable plastering work that comes with it. These fixings barely squeeze into a 25 mm back box and don't get sufficient grip. Any time I tightened the screw the fixing pulled itself back out. Also an absolute nightmare to get level with the undamaged mounting lug.

work great
As a being a advanced diyer , I sometimes dibble dabble in electrical work , such as changing sockets and adding a few spurs there and here. Unfortunately due to age of our sockets sometimes the lugs just either snap off or the thread is cross threaded. lucky these solved that problem. They work really well and would consider any good diyer or trade to have some of these when you get unlucky.
