If you are buying these for beginners or for someone that has no interest in fine tuning their skills as well as artwork, it is somewhat a waste of money as these are more on the expensive side, but the quality is amazing. The results of how these pencils sharpen in an electric sharpener are among the best of any pencil I've used leaving a huge sharp point. Prismacolor Ebony's gave me great lead points as well being nice and even very steep, and sharp. Verithins, not so great a lead point. These pencils are very soft and will go fast, so you will need to set a budget for them alone because you do not want to run out of them when you need them most. Please buy more than a dozen if your budget allows for it. It wouldn't hurt to buy a pencil extender for when you sharpen them down to stumps so nothing goes to waste. Let's get to the quality. They are smooth and can be used for shading and fine detailing. Get used to sharpening them with every few strokes because they dull fast due to being so soft. The wax lead is so good that you can range from the lightest of gray right down to pitch black.

I received all 12 black PrismaColor pencils, as ordered, and very promptly! PLEASE beware that OTHER Amazon sellers have misleading ads, where the buyers are lead to believe they will get several pencils, but only actually receive one pencil for an outrageous price. You CAN trust this seller to deliver as promised!!! I love PrismaColor pencils...all of their colors and their blenders. I've (side by side in use) compared them to six other brands of colored pencils and the differences are noteworthy, remarkable, and undeniable. PrismaColor pencils don't smear uncontrollably. Other brands, often unnecessarily smear too much and can make your drawings appear messy or dirty. Prismacolors, also, give you much fuller coverage. Filling in the hard to cover texture dips in paper is much easier with PrismaColors. The lead in PrismaColors also allow you to achieve richer tones with more pressure, without destroying the papers' surface. I suggest that everyone using colored pencils should, also, purchase PrismaColor's blending pencils, as they do give artists more flexibility and can (very much) improve the end results. PrismaColor blending pencils, although colorless, will darken and deepen the colors and are great at omitting overlapping lines created, when attempting to get an uniform appearance in areas where solid colors are needed. If you haven't used PrismaColors, yet, please try them. I think you'll be happy with their quality!

All you can say it is prismatic and they don't make junk. Yes it is black and full length.

Prismacolor colored pencils are great for serious artwork. The black pencils offered here are a great set since the white and black pencils tend to get used and worn down the most compared to other colors. The pricing was reasonable and commensurate to regular multi-color packs, so all in all, very happy with this purchase. The pencils were genuine Prismacolor colored pencils.

I found it hard to find the black prismacolor pencil in black #935. I usually buy these pencils at Michaels in the colors I need but lately they are not replaced often enough, so when I found them on Amazon I decided to buy this particular color in a quantity of 12. They arrived in good condition, so I have no complaints. They were shipped in a box and were in a bubble lined envelope for protection of damage. They also arrived within a few days.
