A very strange liquid when you pour it out but it soaks into wood nice and fast and as long as you let it dry and wipe off the excess it will keep your wooden blocks looking nice. Water beads up lovely on the surface and will add years to your wooden chopping boards. Very easy to use

I've been buying this product for a while now. I like how easy it is to use and how quick it is to apply. I use it not only on my butchers block but also on my wooden vanity unit in the bathroom, as well as my over the sink chopping board. It may be more expensive than other brands, but a bottle lasts a long time, so it is value for money as a little goes a long way. You do have to reapply every so often, and I usually apply it at least twice a year to keep the wood conditioned.

I thought using oil on your cutting board was good enough. Oh boy this made a massive difference. Would recommend to anyone who likes their boards.

Seems in the mineral oil already applied before this and protects the chopping board from moisture during use.

Provided a beautiful finish on a couple of cutting boards in my kitchen. I had planed and sanded the boards and applied two coats of the conditioner and rhe result was amazing. Fully recommend this product

Sicuramente non da l'effetto di una vera e propria cera d'api, ma a differenza della cera ha una applicazione più semplice e si assorbe più rapidamente. Non mi costringe a mettere il tagliere da parte per un paio di giorni e l'effetto è lo stesso pazzesco. Consiglio a chi come me ama cucinare, ha un buon tagliere e vuole tenerlo bene senza troppi sbattimenti

I bought an IKEA Butcher Block and turned it into my computer desk as I've always loved the look of real wood. At first I bought a Minwax polyurethane at my local Home Depot, I ended up testing it on a small block of wood I had laying around, and I'm sure glad I did cause I hated the strong smell, and once it dried, it really changed the wood's colour too much and made it look kinda fake. That's when I started looking for finishing alternatives for my butcher block desk and stumbled on several reviews that lead me to Howard Butcher Block Conditioner on amazon. I read into this conditioner and found out it was also safe for food which is another big plus cause I sometimes eat at my computer desk (with a plate of course). So I ended up purchasing this product here on amazon and I was very happy with the application instructions because it was much easier than the polyurethane application, and the best part is, the smell wasn't unbearable! I was able to actually sleep in my bedroom while I let my desk absorb the conditioner overnight (You don't actually have to leave the conditioner on for that long, I just did it cause I wanted my desk to absorb as much of this stuff as possible). After I finished applying this stuff on my desk, I fell in love with my desk, the conditioner made the surface feel nice to the touch while maintaining it's genuine wooden look, none of that fake glossy crap. It also gave my desk character that I never thought was there, it made the dark parts of the wood more richer and stand out more without changing the entire appearance of the desk. It basically turned a regular boring, rough feeling butcher block into a more refined, modern and sophisticated looking desk, all thanks to this Awesome Product!! I still have so much of this stuff left that I might end up applying it on every piece of wooden furniture I can find at home. It's that great! :D
