## Description

Product Description PTM7950, a high thermal conductive Phase Change Material (PCM) in pad format, was designed to minimize thermal resistance at interfaces and has the great excellent long term reliability. Based on a novel polymer PCM system, this material exhibits excellent wetting at interfaces during typical operating temperature range, resulting in very low surface contact resistance. A proprietary filler material provides high thermal conductivity 8.5W/m ·K and a low thermal impedance (<0.04˚C cm²/W), suitable for high performance IC devices. how the PTM7950 thermal pad works ? At room temperature, thermal conductive phase change materials remain solid and cannot discharge air from the interface (Picture 1) As the temperature increases, the phase change thermal conductive material becomes softer and the air at the interface begins to be discharged, and the temperature also begins to decrease (Picture 2) When the phase change thermal conductive material reaches the phase change temperature(45°C), it becomes liquid and can greatly wet the interface, discharge the air inside the interface, reduce the interface thermal resistance, and transfer heat as much as possible; When the device is in a non working state, the phase change thermal conductive material becomes solid again, but maintains 100% complete wetting of the interface (Picture 3) Easy to use, Noted: thermal pad is gray, the protective film may be clear or blue, so it is normal if looks gray or blue Widely Application 8.5W/mK high heat dissipation performance.Effectively improve the performance of notebook computers, cpu, ssd, gpu game consoles or other integrated circuit chips. Review: I'm a believer - Legit. Easy install. I have an rtx a4000, which runs very hot and as the factory thermal paste got older it began getting hotter and thermal throttling. Took about 20 min to disassemble and apply the ptm7950 material and it's now better than new. Fan is much quieter and max temps are about 6 degrees lower. I do not need the brush or other stuff in the kit, but it is helpful in scraping off all the old material. This was the largest sheet at the lowest cost I could find on desertcart. Will buy again.
Review: Appears to be genuine 7950, performs as you would expect - I'm always suspicious of buying items like this from random sellers on desertcart; there's really no good way to know with absolute certainty that this is genuine PTM7950; we basically just have to take the seller's word for it. That being said, this stuff performs like PTM7950 Is reputed to perform; I've installed it on a number of CPUs and GPUs and consistently seen about a 3-5C drop in temperatures from good thermal pastes, and temperatures have remained stable in some cases for months under heavy load after installation, as expected from 7950. It also behaves like 7950, in that you really need to keep it in the freezer to be able to work with it; I actually keep it sitting on a hard plastic ice pack while I cut it. So, I have no reason to suspect it's not authentic, and plenty of reason to believe that it is. And it's much more convenient to source it from this vendor than to go elsewhere. I have no complaints about the product whatsoever. Some installation tips: -Keep it frozen and cut it to size on top of a hard plastic ice pack, as I said; I cut about 4mm shorter on all four sides for devices with an IHS, because it does melt and spread, while if it's an exposed die I just cut it to the size of the die. -Condensation will keep the cut piece adhered to the ice pack. While it's stuck down, use an exacto knife to wiggle under a corner of the upwards-facing plastic protective sheet. Holding the knife flat and parallel to the TIM, gently use it to separate the film from the 7950. Don't wiggle the knife. I generally use tweezers to grab the lifted corner but if you can grab it with your fingers that's fine too; the trick is to peel the film in a sideways direction rather than upwards. That is, if you pull the film up toward you at a 90 degree angle to the TIM, it will tear. Fold the lifted corner over and gently walk it back off of the TIM using the knife to lightly hold the exposed TIM down; the film should be bent 180 degrees back over itself as you remove it. With one side of the plastic film removed, install it on the CPU/GPU, and give it a bit of a firm push to help it melt a bit and adhere to that surface. Then repeat the procedure with the knife to slowly peel the plastic film off of the other side. You may scrap a piece or two while you figure it out but once you get the procedure down it's arguably less irritating than spreading a goopy, sticky thermal grease.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works really good, very difficult to apply though

I'm surprised at how well this stuff works compared to stock thermal paste. I was pondering what to use on the core for my 5090 waterblock, so I ran MSI Kombuster for like 15 mins on my daughter's 3060 Ti comparing the stock thermal paste versus this phase change PTM7950, and it lowered the average core temp by 5.5c, thats a big difference! Its not very easy to apply though.
