the base is a bit wide but it does add a more comfortable grip to the camera. an unexpected body’s was that it added some weight to my camera so that when i have my sigma 28-70 2.8, the camera still have enough weight so that it does tip over to put weight on the lens hood. camera sits flat.

I agree with the reviewer in that this doesn't follow the contours of the A7R IV's base perfectly. With that being said, it's not uncomfortable in "my" hand but, that doesn't mean it feels right for everyone. I bought an L-Bracket for my A7R III from SmallRig but, for some reason, they're not selling one for the IV thus, my purchase of this stunt unit. (added photo for reference)

This Hitut company made an extension for the a7iii and it was excellent. It followed the profile of the camera perfectly. This version flares the base of the camera and makes it uncomfortable to hold.
