We recently set up my son’s gaming PC area, and we used Govee lights to bring it to life and WOW, what a difference! The lights are absolutely beautiful, high quality, easy to install, and simple to control. Word to the wise as I had to take a risk making my own magnetic desk light solution versus Secretlab's Nanoleaf version:I’m really happy with how this desk light setup turned out. I used a strip of magnetic tape and stuck it adhesive-to-adhesive with the Govee light bar, and it worked perfectly. The magnet lets me mount it cleanly to my desk frame inside where the cables are held, and it feels just as secure and functional as the more expensive branded option. I originally looked at the Secretlab Nanoleaf desk light, but this solution was far cheaper, easier to customize, and I didn’t have to deal with their customer support. The light quality is great, the install was quick, and I actually like that I can move or reposition it anytime without fuss. For the price and flexibility, this is a smart alternative that gets the job done just as well—if not better—than the premium desk lighting kits.Note that the length of this desk light is about 10ft. There are magnetic tape products sold on Amazon that are also 10ft. Make sure the width of that tape is .6 inches as that is the width of the Govee lights (actually it's .59 inches but hey this doesn't actually make a difference). This to ensure you get proper coverage with the tape. When I used the tape it worked very well and stuck to the side of the Secretlab cable holder without any issue. It is more vibrant, better customizable and most importantly I didn't have to gamble with the garbage customer service from Secretlab.Also, second note, realize that the Nanoleaf version from Secretlab is known to fail and doesn't connect well with their app. Govee setup on their app was VERY easy and seamless. You can remote control it on your app on your phone or via desktop. So far, it seems durable and is holding up. Between this Govee desk light and magnetic tape it cost me about $80. Secretlab is WORSE and the Nanoleaf desk light costs $100 with subpar customer service.

I'm a huge Govee Fan, I own too many sets of lights - just about everything....and I love them all equally. These were a fun surprise. I purchased them to place around the edge of my new desk and I absolutely love it. They shine so bright and paired up with my Alexa, I love how easy it is to use voice commands to turn them on and off. The App is easy to use and you can change up the colors, very easily. It's beautiful and excellent quality. Don't hesitate to try them. You won't be disappointed in Govee quality.

When I’m looking for LEDs, Govee is always my go-to. This product didn’t let me down. The diffused look is aesthetically pleasing. One thing I love about Govee is their brightness, these lights get SO bright. Their app isn’t perfect but it’s far easier to navigate and way more customizable than others I’ve used in the past. Another win for Govee.

Govee is quickly becoming my goto for all of my LED /smart lighting projects. Ever since my first smart bulb, no issues whatsoever (knock on wood). App is easy to use and Alexa/Google integrates as soon as you register it. And it looks good framing my computer workstation! Be sure to follow instructions as you can only bend it one way (back), corner brackets are included for the "L" corners (front).UPDATE: I bought this in September 2023 and as of January 2024, the last couple segments started going out or not connecting with the rest of the strip. Lightly pressing on the problem segment seems to connect (as shown from the last couple images). I sent an inquiry to Support after trying the troubleshooting they offer in the manual pdf but it doesn't address the issue. I hope there is something Govee support can offer or since there is supposedly a 12 month warranty on these lights that I can get a replacement... Will not be happy peeling the product off with that super sticky adhesive but I love this product and worth the effort. Only taking away two stars until I either get a maintenance solution or offer of a successful warranty replacement.ANOTHER UPDATE: Govee came through 48 hours later (after my first update) and had me do a factory reset (forgot the sequence but involved holding down the power button and one other button... this was NOT in the manual). After responding back that it didn't resolve the problem, they sent me a free replacement which arrived within 2 days (I was still under warranty). This was maybe 2 months ago as I'm writing this and no issues. I'm just happy that Govee stands behind their products and responsive to customer concerns!I immediately bought a Govee sconce I had in my save for later cart, after that experience. If a brand takes care of me, I'll stay loyal to them. Bad experiences are only bad because nothing was done to address the issue.
