EXCELLENT, but I would go up a size.
I measured my daughter's foot from toe to heel, and it came in at just under 6", so I purchased the 9.5, thinking that I don't want ballet shoes too loose. While they do fit, and I think they will last just fine during her five week ballet summer class, I do wish I had gone up to the size 11 because I think they would have lasted longer and been just fine right now. In the future, I would go a bit bigger. Not a big deal because my daughter is only 4 and we are still exploring activities.I went with such a cheap shoe, again because I don't want to spend too much before we commit to something long-term. I am very pleased with this shoe, however. I specifically wanted 'ballet pink" canvas with a split sole and I did NOT want to sew in the straps. I need to learn how first! So I figured that spending $12 for a trial run at ballet for a little girl would work, and they do. They're sturdy and she finds them comfortable. They slip on easily, and even more easily over proper tights. I would probably actually continue to buy these, as I found them great quality for the price. I know that should we continue with dance, it will only get more expensive so I will save money while I can!

Good for the price, thin material
I ordered these shoes because the shoes that I usually order from her ballet class have gone up in price, almost to the point of being ridiculous with how fast your kids feet grow. When I receive these, the first thing I noticed is how much thinner the canvas material is than the shoes I would order directly through her studio. We are going into her third month of using the shoes every week and I have yet to have a problem. I'm hoping they hold up until she needs a new pair and that the thin material does not mean they will be less durable. The shoes also run a tad big, but you can tighten them with the elastic ties at the top of the toes, so it's actually not a big deal, and as long as they hold up it will be great because I won't have to replace them as soon as I usually would.

Good product but small
The only problem about this product is too small. My 3-year-old daughter is wearing 7.5-8.5 (depends on different brand) usually, as the others recommended, I ordered one size larger for her, which is 9.5M. When I tried the shoes on her feet, I found they fit her just right, no more room for growing up. So probably I could only keep it for at most half a year then I have to pass it to someone else. I was thinking to keep it for a longer time, this made me a little bit disappointed so maybe thinking about 1.5 size larger would be a good idea.Quality is very good. It is canvas. And I found it is softer and more comfortable than the one in Pay Less Shoes and less expensive, The color is better than it shows on the picture, more like ballet pink.

Sizing Different
I purchased a size 11 for my 4 yr old daughter with a size 9 - 9 1/2 foot. I purchased a size 3 for my 8 yr old daughter with a 1 - 1 1/2 foot. I ordered them larger based upon the first review where the purchaser discovered the slipper ran 1 1/2 - 2 sizes smaller. Here's what I found: for my 4 yr old daughter, the slipper indeed ran 1 1/2 - 2 sizes smaller. However, for my 8 yr old, the sizing was on par. Thus, her size 3 slipper was way too big for her 1 1/2 foot. I reordered a size 2 (prefering if it was in error, that it be a little big) - and officially, have lost any savings that may have come from ordering online. Unfortunately, sizing on this product is not reliable. Quality is fine. Not great, not bad. It is canvas.

Not as big as the reviews say!
I ordered these ballet shoes for my 7 year old, and a lot of reviews said to order a size or two bigger than her regular shoe size. I also measured her feet and used the sizing chart that was provided online. Although she normally wears a size 1 shoe, I ordered a size 3 ballet shoe because her measurements fit the size 3 on the chart. Don't do that! The ballet shoes are way too big. I had to send them back and re-order a size 1.5. This time I only went up a half-size from her normal shoe size. These are very nice ballet shoes! I know we will be very happy once we get the correct size!

Good shoes for beginners.
I got these for my 5 year old for ballet class. She normally wears a 12 in shoes and these fit well. The only complaint I would have is that they were jammed so tight into the envelope that I actually cut the front of the shoe as I was cutting the envelope open. That was upsetting since they were brand new. She only wears them for one hour a week, but they are holding up well.

Adorable-but HUGE, so returning
We purchased the 9.5, hoping we guessed right consider TWO different siding charts and all the reviews saying (mostly) they were too big. The 9.5 measure 6 and 3/4" almost exactly (my measurement at home). I also think that, with this type of ballet slipper, they need to be a bit tight, so sizing down anyway may be needed. Unfortunately, we have to return them.Side notes regarding the slippers in general:-The color is more an extremely pale, creamy pink than the picture shows (looking a bit more tan). They are pretty though.-I was actually hoping they would be a thicker canvas/stronger (as one customer mentioned), because I was going to have my newly walking toddler wear them as shoes. They are very soft and giving. If the type of ballet your child performs is intense, these will likely gain a hole over time.-They seem well-made though and the split-sole would be very comfortable, in my opinion.-Really, if it weren't for the size, I'd be almost 100% happy. They were just hanging loosely off her foot and making her fall.

Nice
My 6 year old daughter left one, yes just one ballet shoe behind in her class. And, yes, she only had 3 more classes left in the semester. I didn't want to buy a new leather pair for 3 classes since they would not fit when the new semester picked up after the summer so I purchased these in a pinch. Although they are canvas, they are nicely made, she said that they were comfortable and now wears them a slippers at home.
