Great Easel
I'm pleased with this easel. It is well made and light. The only drawback is the depth of the compartment. There isn't as much room as I'd like but I suppose it's purpose is for keeping it lightweight. I can store about 8 37ml paint tubes, medium dippers and a about 8 -10 brushes. The compartment dividers are good but do dislodge. The carry case is quite tight fitting and I fear eventually the stitches may fail. On the whole though, this is a good piece of craftmanship. ***please ignore my comment about the carry case, it actually fits fine***the sender Dubois, also sent a handwritten thank you, which was welcome. **note** the picture doesn't feature the fold up palette or the compartment dividers, which I removed to make more room.

Not as good as it should be
This elm version of the Julian is not very good. The wood is too soft. Mine arrived with bits having fallen off due to poor manufacture - over-drilled screw holes - and I had to buy new larger screws to hold it together. Yes I know I could have sent it back but it's too heavy and I couldn't be bothered. In the typical English way - I just wont buy anything from Julian again.
