Works fantastic with 5K monitor and M1 Pro
I tried my luck by spending thirty bucks rather and two hundred to connect my MacBook Pro with M1 Pro to a 5K monitor and this works like a charm WITHOUT any additional software. A few other docks I have tried have been unmitigated disasters and cost significantly more.Keep in mind you need a USB-C charger as it does not come with a power adapter and the attached usb-c cable is a bit short. That said, these are minor quibbles when considering the price.I love it!

Super happy!
I'm impressed by how small this device is! It's replacing my larger docking station and performs better with more features. I connected it to my Macbook Air M2 USB C port and connected two HDMI cables for my monitors. I also connected three USB devices, including a mechanical usb keyboard and mouse. Everything is working perfectly and the device isn't overheating.

Lots of usable ports; slow external drive speed over USB-A; no data over USB-C
My primary use for this was to allow connectivity to external USB drives (as my Macbook Pro does not have a USB-A port) and to provide Ethernet in some situations. Like many hubs I have tried (at least 5 or more), this one failed to deliver the stated speeds with USB drive. In addition, the PD USB-C port apparently only functions as a power delivery and is not a combo power / data port. Which means one of the 2 USB-C ports on my Mac would be taken up by this and I'd only have 1 additional USB-C port available. For my speed tests, I used Blackmagic Design's Disk Speed Test tool (free to download and use). Raw speed of the drive (with a USB-A to USB-C adapter) in the Macbook is about 540 write and 710 read. Plugging in to the USB 3.0 ports in the hub, I was only able to achieve around 288 write and 345 read. It's functional but certainly around 1/2 (read speed) of the 625 MB/s theoretical speed of USB 3.0.This is a larger hub (not super compact for travel). I'm a software developer and by using this hub, I would lose a USB-C port and I would lose significant performance from my applications and virtual machines running off of my external drives. I was able to use some of the other ports but my primary need of a fast external drive just isn't met with this device. It might work fine for users with lower performance requirements around the home or on vacation. But for an IT professional, it does not meet the performance needs I have for travel.I do like the fact that it has high resolution video and a Display Port for video. So I'll keep this around for times when I need alternate ports but I'm disappointed that I can't use it as a one-size-fits-all adapter on the road,

Really slow HD speed and no audio from thunderbot 4
There is no audio from the thunderbolt 4 port, hard disk transfer speed is slow and the unit gets really hot. Should have listened to other reivewers. Mine is defective and it is going back.

great docking station to save time connect/disconnect cables
I use this 8-in-1 docking station to connect USB peripherals (keyboard/mouse & scanner), dual monitors (HDMI & DP), SD/microSD cards, and Ethernet cable. It saves time & confusion trying to connect/disconnect cables in the dark. Now I only have to connect 1 cable to the laptop and use the same USB-C port to simultaneously charge & transfer data. The ethernet port have LED indicators to let you know if your network is running Gigabit or slower speed. I haven't run any data transfer speed test because I'm not an IT person but transfer data to/from an SSD backup drive is plenty fast for my needs. The 2 USB-3 ports are good but I could use more. The appear to be room on the other side of the hub to have another 2 USB ports. The photo stated 100W PD but the detailed description said 85W so I'm not sure which is more correct. It charges my LG Gram 17" just fine.

Did not work on my system
I was excited to use this with my dual monitors, but unfortunately it did nothing for me except act as a USB hub.I'm giving this a bit of the benefit of the doubt that it may have been user error, but I think with better instructions I would have had a better chance of getting my monitors to work.

Works great for a dual monitor setup up to 4K.
I got this because it has both the HDMI and Display Port connection because I've run into issues lately where I need the display port and most of the docks I have don't have it and there's never an adapter around when you need one.I've only run this with both the HDMI and DP connected to monitors supporting 4K max so I can't attest to it's 8K capabilities, but the instructions do state that you can only run this in single monitor mode over the DP connection to achieve the 8K output so be aware of that.Everything I've connected to this thing so far has worked perfectly with no drivers and no issues on a macbook pro. The only thing I haven't tested yet is the power in put just because I've had issues in the past with power going through docks and killing batteries and frying a machine so I just don't trust it enough to try it out again but other than that this hub works great and I'd totally recommend it.

Glad I Ordered!
A new laptop and monitors for my work from setup meant I needed a new way to connect it all together. This has worked great! The only "flaw" (I say this with great hesitancy) is when I plug in my power cord to the dock, and the dock into my computer, my computer isn't charged properly. If I plug both the power cord and the dock directly into the computer, everything works perfectly. My hesitation to bring this up is I have not tested using a more powerful cord in case there is a little power being siphoned when routing through the dock, or if the dock just can't handle the amount of power I need.My setup includes the following, and it has worked perfectly for it.1. Mouse dongle2. Keyboard dongle3. HDMI to 27" monitor (Full HD 1080p 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz)4. DP to 27" monitor (Full HD 1080p 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz)5. Ethernet
