SmileDirectClub Aligner and Retainer Case

During my Invisalign journey, I have come to really appreciate the various accessories from SmileDirect Club and this one is no exception. While I really liked the "official" Invisalign cases, they just didn't fit my aligners correctly. Every once in a while I would be able to get them to fit and be able to close it but more often than not, my case would have to stay slightly cracked since I didn't want to bend or contort my trays. These are ever so slightly larger but still very slim to tuck away in your pocket or your purse. I also like that there are little notches that allow air flow, magnetic closure, and the slide out mirror from underneath is super slim and a nice feature that doesn't add hardly any bulk to it. I'm definitely a fan- it took me a 1.5 years to find a case that I actually liked and here it is. Wish this existed sooner!

There's not all that much that needs to be said about this case. It is exactly as described, and it works very well. I ordered this because the case my dentist gave me for my teeth whitening tray was enormous, and the lid flipped off too easily. This case from SmileDirectClub is much, much better. It's slim enough to fit in my pants pocket. The lid is held in place by a fairly powerful magnet, so it's unlikely to open accidentally. There are narrow troughs in the base to stop water pooling, and a small gap on each side to allow evaporated water to escape. Finally, the mirror on the underside comes in handy. Basically, this is a $15 case that does everything I want it to do. I can't imagine any potential improvements.

I'm actually not a member of Smile Direct Club, but I was in the market for a retainer case, so I was excited to give this a try. Overall, this is a few steps up above the cheap retainer cases that the orthodontist gives you. The design of the case actually as a few useful features. It has like a rubber/silicon matted bottom, so your retainers don't slide all over the place in the case that could potentially ding up your expensive retainers. Their are vent slots on the sides to allow it to breath and their is even a mirror that swivels from the bottom and held in place with three magnets. The case is made of thick high quality plastic and is colored purple (the company color). If I were to think of one improvement, it would be to make the depth deeper as I also let my retainers sit in hydrogen peroxide overnight in the case.

I did smile direct treatment and wanted an extra case to keep at work (vs. hauling one back and forth). This is the exact same as the original box I received. It has a nice heft and is well built. It has never come open on accident. It has a swing out mirror on the bottom. It's perfect for my needs. It would work well with pretty much any retainer-invisalign-type device. I am guessing it is likely too slim to carry a full set of bulkier dentures, but could maybe work for partials.
