The BAFTA-winning hit returns as DI Sunny Khan and new DCI, Jess James, uncover the truth behind another historical murder. Human remains are discovered in a newly renovated period property in West London. But is this a murder dating back to the 1930s or has the body been disposed of in more recent times? Sanjeev Bhaskar is back to lead the team alongside Sineยดad Keenan who plays his new partner DCI James. The ghost of much-loved former colleague Cassie Stuart still hangs over the department โ does Jess have the resolve, professionalism, and spirit to live up to her much-admired and respected predecessor? DI Khanโs loyal team reprise their roles including Jordan Long as DS Murray Boulting and Carolina Main as DS Fran Lingley. Review: Quality and value - Brilliant series Review: Worth every penny! - If you are already a fan , then you will love series 5 from the first scene. New viewers will take a little longer for it to take hold, but take hold it will. The characters are finely drawn and completely believable. The story line is compelling and the acting is spot on. 5 stars all round.

Excellent viewing
I love all the series of Unforgotten. It always amazes me how so many different characters from different backgrounds can be woven together and somehow all end up having something to do with an historic crime/murder. I'll never tire of these and this is why I buy each series so I can watch whenever I want. Highly recommended viewing.

Very good but not quite up to the standard of the previous series
Maybe four and half stars would be more accurate. It is always difficult to keep up the same standard especially as the main character had gone, but the same format and four of the same characters, the opening titles and music were just as good. Was there too much emphasis on the private lives of the two detectives this time? On the other hand, it did make us think about whether the new character was like that normally, or just because of circumstances? The usual plot unfolds, with four quite unrelated groups eventually being linked, but this is where the story is not as good. The story began to drag a bit, but I watched it all, although the ending was a bit disappointing. Sanjeev was brilliant, and for that reason alone I shall look forward to series six.

New partner filled predecessors boots
I liked the New detective and accent. The series needs to continue.... It's up there with Silent Witness, if not on top. I have enjoyed all the 1-5 series to date. Fabulous, highly recommended for viewers that like mysteries solved and the approach and the way people have lived with their mistakes and the ripple affect of discovering and finding out what has happened.

Very enjoyable.
Having watched the previous four series, I wondered if Series 5 would be as good, especially with a change of one of the characters (I won't go into detail as it might be a spoiler for new viewers to Unforgotten). I have to say that this does not disappoint. The new 'set-up' has worked seamlessly in its continuation, in fact, it has added a new dimension to the show - and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I have yet to watch the last episode - and it really is keeping me in the dark as to its conclusion.

WELL WORTH SEEING
ANOTHER EXCELLENT SCREENPLAY BY CHRIS LANG AND VERY WELL ACTED.

Disappointing.
Too much grief from too many of the main characters. It does leave you with the feeling that this is more about the two main protagonists rather than the ancient crime being investigated. Thank goodness for the stalwart detective team who plod along doing their jobs without their personal conflicts intruding. Never has the lead character, Cassie Stuart, been so much missed. No criticism of Sanjeev Bhaskar ---- Modric needed a Scott Parker, Waddle needed a Hoddle ---- DI Khan certainly needed something more than the creation of DCI James. Only my view. English subtitles with the 6 episodes, 272 minutes which is about 45-50 minutes per episode ---- it's ITV.

Wow. Really good!
Once I got Netflix and Amazon Prime I thought I'd never have to spend money on DVDs again. But I acquired this and a few others in moments of weakness. Now I get so sick of doing the Netflix version of channel surfing, forever trying to find out of their big selection something I want to watch. A couple nights ago I finally put this one on. I really liked all the previous series of Unforgotten. I was skeptical that without the main female lead that it could be as good. But...Wow!...Excellent, bingeable material. Everybody and the plot was outstanding. If they make another one with these actors, I'm in. Highly recommended.

Brilliant series
The fifth season sees changes in the main characters and provides some new dynamics. The story is well-crafted and the 5th season provides an excellent continuation to the rather iconic first four seasons. Crime drama at its best - keeps you gripped until the very end.
