I’m not sure about comparing it to a 5.11, I personally used this bag as a book bag, as well as vitals bag (CNA-Covid/nursing student, carrying around 45lbs of books, notebooks plus computer, elder of scrubs, and vital signs equipment) it lasted for about 2.5 years, loved it, very comfortable
