Great help for reduced mobility
Although there is a learning curve to figuring out how the stair assist cane works (I really wish it came with some instructions, but you can find online video tutorials to help), it has been immensely helpful and decreases the height of each stair rise. In order to use the cane best, we found it necessary to practice several times with assistance before being able to utilize it alone.I’m so glad there is a product to help my grandma navigate her home more easily. The cane is light enough to use easily, while being sturdy enough to make me confidence in its safety. The textured tread to decrease risk of slipping is also a wonderful design edition.

Overpriced!
You can get a cane with 4 feet for about $25. This item is built similarly, but adds a rectangular piece of sheet metal to stand on...for $100. Sorry I bought it.

Seems good, better than other types
I donated a pricey articulating walker because it was too heavy to use alone. Next I tried the plastic box with a cane attached. I did not feel comfortable it would be ok in winter, so a friend took it to her place down south. This unit is metal with rubber feet and hold considerably more than my weight. It took a little practice. One has to watch placement to be careful of the feet of the unit being safely on the stair before stepping up onto it. Because I live where there is snow and such, I wanted more of a slip resistant surface. I had some antislip tape in the house and added 2 strips of it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B097TTQV4C?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I don't think there's a perfect portable answer to this problem. But this is better than some. Certainly easier than dragging around a 9 ft long portable ramp. If it was for permanent use, and it's something a person can afford I'd have a carpenter build some half steps in if a ramp isn't possible but for visiting, it will do. I have a woman's size 9W shoe. My husband has a mens size 13 and he said he thought it probably didn't work as well for him. So bear foot size in mind.

Difficulty with steps being too high.
I have difficulty stepping up or down a regular step. The stair climbing assist cane made the distance that I needed to step up half the distance. Great device!

Step not long enough
Was good product but did not work for my needs. Width was good but needed to be longer to place both feet on step. Was risky to use on stairway. Better for single step down. Return accepted and refund processed very promptly.

Very Helpful
This stair climbing cane really helped me get around. I needed this mostly after I had my knee replacement. The cane does support short steps. Some steps are built smaller and this cane would not support it good enough. Measures your steps first before buying. The 4 legs got to touching the floor of the steps.

Changes the step height to 4 inches
Makes going up stairs very easy by changing the step height to 4 inches. Was falling down the stairs d/t poor leg strength. My home PT never saw this before but said it is a fantastic device to help provide security when using stairs. They have their stamp of approval!

It worked fine
Was easy to setup and use. The only problem we ran into was the depth of the steps. Was hard to place the foot on the flat service

I was worried that it might be too heavy at 3lb, but it's alright. The only issue I have is that the handle isn't as shown in the picture. They've rotated it by 90 degrees. So either it's over the step or on the outside of the step.

I had started to struggle lifting my left leg high enough to mount the stairs but I am not yet ready to give in and get a stair lift so though I would try this half step gadget. It works very well although it took me a couple of weeks to get the hang of using it to the best effect, I also take it with me when out visiting so that I can navigate any steps away from our home, it is sturdy and good value for money
