Love that this is made from CNC'ed aluminum. It has a cold shoe that fits my tripod's Acra style ball receiver or can be screwed into two standard 1/4"20 thread mount located in the cold shoe mount and mid way in the back of the main back bar. It will hold your IPad or tablet, with no worries about it falling out. The thumb screw will lock in your IPad Mini, IPad Pro, IPad Pro 12.9 or any tablet of similar size into the ulanzi mount. The edges that grip your tablet are protected by thick rubber pads, shaped to hold your tablet securely without damaging your tablet, However, if you don't have a back cover, I'd mount thin foam strips on the ulanzi, to protect the back of your tablet. Otherwise, this equipment piece is perfect. I'd recommend this for anyone who wants a secure metal heavy duty mount. It heavy so be prepared for a little heft. Oh, it fits into a pencil holder zippered case. That how I store mine, so it will not damage my tripod.One last thing, there is a slot cut into the top mount for a flash to mount. It's really well thought out and engineered to perform. I use mine with on a carbon fiber tripod with a better than average ball mount with Acra styled mount that is rated for around 35 lbs. I'm looking forward to using this for a very long time. Very well made, you won't be disappointed.

Perfect for what I needed. I have a Original style tablet from when they first came out. A Motorola Xoom. 10.1 inch and a case made of metal. Very heavy by the standards these days, also very solid and still works fine. Slow and cannot handle a lot of the apps out these days, but it works as a monitor for my DSLR camera very well. Problem is was, as heavy as it is I have broken several plastic tablet holders/mounts over the years and I have been looking for one to mount to my Camera rig/tripod. This is solid. Works well. and now I can use my old tablet on my camera as a monitor and a touch screen control panel for the camera. AND it is big enough to hold my 10 inch tablet in either portrait or landscape mode. It is actually TOO large to hold my 8.5 inch Samsung in landscape mode, it doesn't close far enough. It will work in portrait mode though.

These days of COVID-19 posed interesting new challenges and new ways to do things. For my kids, they both ended up having virtual training sessions for their sports. The most challenging one was trying to set an iPad up for my son's basketball training in the backyard where his hoop is. In addition he had a mini Ipad that I wanted to mount horizontally. If you do enough research, many mounts you find here are not able to support holding a mini iPad in the horizontal position as the mount does not support the smaller width. Most will support a large iPad horizontally but only the mini iPad mounted vertically. I also was wary of having a mount that was made of plastic. I wanted a solid mount that will hold on to the iPad especially if my plan was to use it outside. This aluminum mount seemed ideal but it's REALLY expensive.I'm happy to says that this item is one well constructed, over engineered item!!! Everything about it is premium, from the way the sliding mechanism works to the locking know. It's feels durable and high quality. It fits any standard tripod mount threaded screw. And once you had your ipad tightly in there it was secured. So for functionality I really love it. And given the stay-at-home situation, I've gotten tremendous amount of use out of it as it's used literally everyday for the kids. Super easy to setup. 5-10 minutes before their lesson I set it up and forget it. It is expensive so for what I'm using it for. But I was in a hurry and there weren't alot of other options. But for me, I also saw it as something that will enable my kids to busy themselves while keeping them out of your hair while you're trying to work. That alone is PRICELESS to both my wife and me, as we're in alot of conference calls.

When I removed the product from the box, I could immediately tell from the weight that this was sturdy metal. The expanding slide worked smoothly. I attached a 10 inch Samsung Galaxy tablet to my tripod and it remained secure. The mounting shoe is substantial and large enough so that it can be secured and neither vibrate nor wobble. As some have noted I would hesitate to tip it vertically without some sort of additional security. However, most of what I'll be doing whether video or pictures will be done with the tablet in a horizontal position. Though the metal is very smooth, I chose to use a strip of nonslip rubber padding to protect the tablet screen when mounted against the unit. In summary, I like the hefty metal feel, smooth working of the slide, and how the slide isn't just spring loaded but can be secured by a turning knob. I definitely recommend this product to others.

Was looking for a solid product, simple to use, price secondary. This fits the bill. There is nothing flimsy about this all metal product. But someone looking a light holder best look elsewhere, this Ulanzi is relatively heavy. I was looking for a holder for my iPhone 11 in the larger Otter box case, also any larger future phone. If a person doesn’t mind the weight and heft I would highly recommend this solidly made versatile product.

This is a solid tripod mount for an iPad if you don't want any bells and whistles. The construction is heavy duty. It holds the iPad very securely with no fear of it slipping out.A couple things to be aware of:- Like most holders/mounts, this will not hold an iPad that is in most protective iPad cases, including slimline cases.- The thumbscrew on the back for the width can easily be overtightened, and then requires some force to unscrew (it sort of binds). A well-placed drop of machine oil or even oil oil resolves this issue.

Build material is good all aluminum except the rubber scrath protector in bottom and top.I was not able to mount my iPad with thinnest case☹️.They sent me an opnebox item even though I paid for new :(Not going for the hassle to return.

Excelente para usarse con un tripie, para presentaciones o simplemente ver películas o series en el Ipad. Esta hecho para usarse sin funda del Ipad, pero yo la uso con una funda y se adapta bien. Lo recomiendo.
