Carson MagniGrip 4.5x Magnifier with Attached Precision Tweezers (MG-55)

Must have if you work in welding and or fabrication. They are great quality, they work VERY well, extremely affordable, it says 4.5x multiplier, but it feels like 500x if you adjust it just right. Not only did I recommend it to a few friends.. I bought them for them too.

This is a great little first aid tool! I'm a home wood worker and machinist. From both I regularly end up with slivers in my hands and fingers. Sometimes that are quite hard to find and I end up with a wound that looks like hamburger from trying to dig out and elusive little bit of wood. This magnifier/tweezer has ended that! It's now easy to see almost every sliver splinter without strain. Then, the sharp pointed tweezers have a very effective sharp and fine point. It is always pretty easy now to grip sliver and remove. The magnifier is adjustable for distance to match anyone's vision perfectly. The magnifier is clear and un-distorted. It does have a rather short range of focus as is natural with high power simple lenses. I found that the best way to bring the into focus at the sliver is the "open" the hinge to a distance beyond the focus distance. Then place the tweezer point near the sliver. As you look through the lens, then slowly push the magnifier closer to the skin my eye brow until exact focus. It is easier than it sounds. Don't waste the extra $3 for the version with the fussy LED light built in. This one works just fine. Simply find a bright light to work under and don't mess with the un-needed complication of the built in light. At the current "Add On Item" price of four dollars, this is a great bargain. My only problem is that my wife has laid claim to my first pair to use with her sewing and I had to order another pair for myself. She likes these a lot for picking out fine threads and seams.

I use these every single day for pulling metal splinters out of my hands at my job as a machinist and they do a great job!

These are pretty nice they work well as I do a lot of Woodworking and I am always getting slivers and these do the trick. not flimsy tweezers either they work very well. I recommend these

the idea is good but being attached you can't always get the tweezers and glass lined up just right

I am a school Nurse so splinter removal is common for me. I bought these hoping to make that procedure a bit less intimidating for my students. The magnifying glass does its job and makes the removal more of a project than a procedure but the tweezers are awful. They seem misaligned and do not grip the splinter at all. I attempted to use these on 3 separate cases and all 3 required I use my regular tweezers. Don't waste your money. These are not good for splinter removal.
