Last Secret of the Deverills

I really enjoyed this trilogy
This is the last book in a trilogy. In the United States the 1st book is called The Girl in The Castle, The second is Daughters of Ireland ( I think it's called the Deverill daughters in it's original publication in the UK), I don't think that the Last Secret of the Deverills will be released in the United States until spring 2018. I really enjoyed this trilogy. I had borrowed the 1st two from the library and didn't want to wait until spring or summer for the library to get it so I purchased it from Amazon and am very glad that I did. The trilogy tells the story of several families from the west coast of Ireland and starts around 1908 and the last one ends around 1953. It has the usual Irish novel elements- romance, some mysticism, tragedy and heartbreak.

Interesting characters & plots that hold interest right til the end of the book!
This author writes very interesting books that hold my interest - so much so that I have trouble putting it down to get some sleep at night! This book was no exception. There are several books on the Deverills and I recommend reading them all, in the order written. Something else I like is that I continue to think about the story days after I finish reading the book. Highly recommend.

Forgiveness
This final book in the trilogy sums up everything and makes the reader realise how important forgiveness is. A must read for the summation of the intrigue of Castle Deverill.

Wonderful read!
I read this series starting with book 2 not realizing it was a series. I had to buy book 3! And now I have purchased several of her other books as well!

The Deverill Series
Read all three in Deverill series. Loved them all. This one, the last, draws all the threads together beautifully. Was sorry to see the series end. A really nice read.

A wonderful, captivating historical drama
This is the third book in the Deverill Chronicles, and after loving books one and two, I couldn't wait to be swept away back to Ballinakelly, Ireland, for book three. It's now 1939 and this captivating, historical drama, centered around Castle Deverill and the lives of Kitty, Bridie, Celia and co. continues. We say a sad farewell to some favourite characters but also welcome a new generation who have to deal with the devastating consequences of their elders' secrets and lies, both past and present. The outbreak of war brings a distraction from torment for some but tragedy for others.A tale of forbidden love, brutal murders, bitterness and regret, but also of forgiveness, this book ticked all the boxes for me. It took me to another time and place, far away from real life, where it made me gasp, smile and with a wipe of my eye, left me heaving a sigh of total contentment.Although the final book in this trilogy, it can be read alone, but honestly, you really should read all three and you'll enjoy a truly wonderful fictional journey.

Wonderful tale of intrigue, passion and love beautifully told!
I loved this book. In fact I love all of Santa Montefiore books and can never put them down. One gets so involved in the stories and I can never wait to find out how things are going to work out for all the characters in it. It is such a lovely story of love, passion, intrigue and betrayal and the descriptions of the Irish countryside are absolutely delightful. It is making me want to visit Ireland again on the strength of this book where I can just sit and imagine where all the intrigues of this story are played out. The story of the Deverills is fascinating and is so enjoyable to read.

Riveting to the end!
I have never read a book with so many twists and turns! Agonisingly frustrating, but ensuring you don’t want to stop reading as you wait to see if the characters will discover the truth about each other. A tremendously well written book that has at its heart a message of forgiveness that is one I will treasure for a long time. Thank you! This book was a fitting read for a turning point in my life and has left me filled with positivity and enthusiasm for what lies ahead.

An amazing read!
This is the third book in the Castle Deverill story and an amazing read as were the earlier two books. I thoroughly recommend this Santa Montefiore book - it will have you in tears though not just sad parts but very beautiful parts. I cried many tears when I finished this book at having finished three of the best books I have ever read. I really wish there were more sequels.

Read the others first !
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, eagerly awaited as it is the last part of the trilogy. I definitely recommend that the three books are read in order, starting with Songs of Love and War, as the story evolves through the generations. I was slightly disappointed that we didn't hear more about Celia's adventures in South Africa, but perhaps that is another story in the making!
