Each time I take it out of the cupboard to use, the first attempt will jam and not work, so I have to unclog and clean it and then usually I can get it to work after that. If it gets too jammed before you realize it, it is VERY difficult to separate the components to unclog. It just happened to me again this morning, and it appears this was the final jam - seems just about impossible to unscrew, which means I will have to toss it out.
